Commandos,
I have re-rolled a few different races to try out different toons etc. I now have a question about this profession and armor. If I play a wookie, am I going to run into major drawbacks as a commando due to my lack of armor?

If I am 100% sure I want commando should I re-roll race for one that can wear all aromor? I am also considering imperial if I go commando.

If I remade I would almost certainly go human commando. Any thoughts on wookie for commando?

Thanks,

You mention Imp so are you going to get involved in PvP?

If so, the lack of armor is a huge issue.

If you plan on going imp and not human, you will be seriously penalized in buying faction perks.

That said, Zabrak have great stat defenses and massive mind regen. Not to mention equalize which when used in PvP is a ugly mean surpise.

Rodians have massive action regen and a decent defense bonus.

Or you could just say to heck with it and play the race you like best.

Yup, I have a Mon Cal commando and do fine without any armor at all. (Though for PvP I'd get some, I'm eyeing up a full suit of Ubese lately as well.)

I did have to adjust stats. You'll want the highest constitution and stamina you can, and not too shabby strength and quickness. I find I do better with this setup than with highest health and action I can do. (I do have max health though.)

If you are going to go wookiee and Imp, wookiees have about THE worst faction penalty possible (AT-ST's cost 9k for humans and for wookiee's it's 29k I was told)

I never wear armor, the HAM and action costs are too high to justify their worth imo. I wore armor for the few few weeks of the game but haven't worn any since.

I also read a good report from a master weaponsmith a few weeks ago on the forums that did a good job of describing why armor is not worthless, its a detriment.
