Thread: New commando with question regarding flamer speed and special attacks

I have a flamethrower with a speed of 4.7. When I attack normally (not using any specials) it attacks at about that speed. However, when I overcharge2 or flamesignle1, it literally takes about 12 seconds in between rounds.

I even have clothing with a heavy weapons speed +2 on it, although I've read this does nothing.

Why the long time spands in between special attacks?

Its a timer penalty on special attacks.


overcharge shot will always give you like a 2.5x weapon speed penalty..and the flamer with 4.5 spd will take 11 seconds.


As you go up the flamer tree the flamespecial timer gets shorter as you get +flamethrower speed mods.


at master is becomes 4 to 6 seconds only.

He is correct, At master you shoot specials 5-6 seconds apart.


At novice you shoot them around 12-14 seconds depending on your flamer.



Thats why all novices should use a speed sliced flamethrower. like a 3.5 or faster, their hard to find, but worth the money.

Ivoni has tested this at length...


At flame single 1 the delay is 15 seconds.


At master the delay on flame single 2 and flame cone 2 can get as low as 8-9 seconds with a good flamethrower.


You will never see a delayas low as4-6 seconds.
