Thread: New Patch and Commando
Apparantly no change for pikeman or Squad Leaders either.
Creature Handlers get all the love.
Are you sure the 2.5x melee malus will be removed ?
Metanis - Kauri
remember...the last 3 patches at least they have made significant changes to commando, but have not put any reference in the patch notes...I expect the same this patch...
Unfortunately I'm out of town until Saturday, so I'll rely on all of you to keep me up to date on what changes actually happen...going through withdrawls as we speak... ![]()
Mitigation will be effecting every combat class.
Anybody know if commando are still getting melee mitigation?
Melee modifier has been replaced by a melee v ranged to hit modifier.
Instead of taking more damage per hit you will take more hits. Different meat same veg?
Last I heard (but of course that can change in mere minutes) is Commandos and BH's will no longer get the 2.5X damage multiplier for melee damage against us, but will be harder to hit with melee attacks when we have our heavy weapons equiped. As far as the melee mitigation, that was the last I heard as well...
When did you hear this? We have been discussing this for a couple of weeks at least and last reports posted said that the 2.5 Multiplier IS going away and Commandos have been switched to Ranged Mitigation...I have personally gone to TC and verified that we now have Ranged Mitigation...has this changed in the last week (I'm in Denver on a Business trip, so I can't verify)?
well it is better though. that 200 damage per hit is no longer 450.. but you will get the penalty over-time.
aka, instead of a kam hitting you for the 700 damage a bite it does now, it ill hit you for 350, 2 secs later 350 again (no 'you evade' or 'kamurith misses' ).
All commandos should pick up a melee class for the defenses, and since unarmed4 is our requirement and since TKA has perhaps the best defense tree of all melees, its a no-brainer.
meditation and the defense tree of tka should be something every commando should get, the benefits are tremendous for the small amounts of points spent in comparison.
