Hey, maybe they will make the Heavy Acid Rifle useful
Then we might have a new way of getting experience! I just hope the devs have been reading and taking notes! I am pretty excited, myself
I mean, they can't possibly screw us over COMPLETELY... can they?

Actually...from the sound of it...gaining Heavy Weapon XP (Commando XP) will be MUCH easier after the patch...
The Dev's have stated that Flame DoT damage will once again count towards xp and looting rights...which means using the DoT will no longer reduce the xp you get from your target...Before if you hit them with a DoT any damage done via the Burn would not grant you xp...only non-DoT damage would grant xp...
The negative here is this will make it easier for Commandos to grief (run you on a potential kill steal victim, place a DoT and run away and wait...OR...DoT several creatures and just wait till they are down to nothing...you'll get xp and looting rights)...
I'd ask that all Commandos who read this forum avoid griefing this way...it is my fear that after next patch, our requests for fixes and complaints about too much reduction will be drowned out by GRIEF cries from KS victims claiming that we need yet another NERF...If this happens the Devs will just NERF us further instead of actually listening to us...

Garvin is dead on correct as usual.
All I can say is if you're at the mining outpost on Dant looking for a group, do it without your FT in your hands or you might find the invites a little slow.

If DoT damage really did take a 90% reduction (as some players on TC have suggested) then getting XP is not all that much easier. You do still need to put away the flame thrower though, as other combat professions may still think it's potentially damaging.
