Combat xp is not calculated by how you kill things (e.g., special moves). It is just 10% of the xp value of whatever you killed.
For example, if you kill a rabid beaver with your pistoland get 1000 pistol xp, you'll get 100 combat xp.
In order to gain combat xp the fastest, use your best combat skill and go out and kill stuff. You'll need to get 400,000 weapon-specific xp in order to acrue the 40k combat xp. I would suggest developing one of the other weapon skills from marksman(rifle, pistol, or carbine). While you are building that up a little bit, you'll gain combat xp, too.

Yeah that's a bit steep I think. Prior to this publish, you could go Farm 'N Bleed leviasqualls on Rori for easy easy combat XP, but now... you're SOL. Sorry to say. Just use grenades on lairs.. that's all the advice I can really give.

yep thats right 40k of combat experience. Well do you expect, thats all we do, but i can understand your anger. Like the other said "kill anything and everything you see".
What you might want to try is to go ahead and finsh up brawler. Unarmed is the hardest part, which you already have. This is good for two reasons. One, after your done with it you will basically have the needed combat xp.(rough estimate), and Two brawler might bo one of your other holos. Just a thought and good luck.

get a pistol and some grenades.
the grenades will give you bonus combat xp . . . you'll get, for instance, a message saying "you gained 1000 pistol xp, 100 combat xp (from the pistol), and another50 combat xp (for the grenade damage) and by the time you get the 40k combat xp for Nov. Commando you can get novice pistoleer which will give you some + accuracy for using the LP.

If you wanna get the combat xp really fast... get CM and poison/diesease things till they're pukiing. It doesn't take that long at all to get master medic and if you get someone to tumble or flame a pet for you you'll have the xp in no time. If you don't want to take the time to get CM (i probably wouldn't) than just do what was posted earlier. Get lots of grenades and just kill everything that moves.

took me 3-4 days to get about 28-30k of combat exp, 1337 professions help, like rifleman, where you can get massive exp per creach, go to dant, or danth, all good places for exp

Well, my first Holo said "Master Commando"
So, I started off in the Unarmed tree of Brawler.
I have (finally) made it up through Unarmed 4 and you have to have 40,000 points of Combat xp to be a Novice Commando!!
AAAARRRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I only have a little over 6k from going through the Unarmed branch.
It took me a while to get through unarmed 4. I am NOT a power gamer.
Why the hell 40,000 xp???
Dang.
Well, my question is what can I fight to get the most xp??
Do I get more xp from fighting stuff with or without special moves??
Do I get more xp the longer it takes to kill something??
This really sucks. I know it will take me forever to get through Commando. Then I have 4 more Holo's to go.
Ugh.
How do you people do it???
