Several Correspodents have resigned recently...1 even before the Summit...They told the Devs awhile back but all stayed on until Tiggs could find replacements...It just looks like it's all happening at once because Tiggs posted several "Help Wanted" posts today...that doesn't mean they all resigned at the same time (they didn't) and it definitely doesn't have anything to do with the Revamp...In fact, I'll go as far as saying that all of them think the Revamp is a good thing and aren't resigning over some type of protest regarding any type of NERF coming to their profession (a popular rumor)...I know that one quit over the fact that he doesn't have interest in playing anymore...Another just doesn't have the time...
You can't do the Correspondent job if your heart isn't in it...Some people think we do it partly because of "Perks"...but that's not it at all...The summit was the coolest thing ever, but we were here before we knew of the Summit and we are still here after the Summit...we do it because we care about the game and we love our Community...
The day that my interest in the game or being a Commando starts to fade is the day I will resign...I can't do my job if I'm not 100% interested in being a WORKING Commando...That's why a lot of Correspondents resign...they can't give that 100% anymore for any type of reason...
I will tell you all this...think of it as my personal vow...I will NEVER quit out of protest over something...That doesn't accomplish anything...sure, it sends the Devs a small note, but that note fades quickly, especially when the new correspondent gets the feet wet...Instead of quiting out of anger, I'll channel my anger into making myself heard on your behalf...I RANT THEREFORE I AM!!!!

well, we all knew it was happening, but this is written proof the players have been kicked to the curb yet again.
I didn't see written proof of that...I saw rumors flying around...
Nothing is concrete until a Dev posts something that states "This has been delayed"...Right now many people are figuring that the the Correspondent's quiting has something to do with the Revamp...
An interesting point regarding that...Of the 4 Correspondents that have quit, 3 weren't at the Summit...and 2 of them announced their retirement to us privately over a month a go...
Nobody is sure when the Docs are coming out or when testing will start...The Revamp was ALWAYS scheduled to hit the live servers after JTL...testing may or may not start before the release of JTL, but that has never been confirmed...and the Doc release date was reported to the public by the Correspondents...The Devs just told us Correspondents when we should expect to start reviewing them in theCorrespondent forum....
So any anger you may sense is just understandable frustration...but no broken promises and a whole lot of RUMORS...

roger that.
one of your other posts kinda cleared it up for me too. this is actually, believe it or not, comforting information for me, and probably other players too. i guess the thing that bugs me is, they have been promising the revamp, or at least something like it, since january of this year, and it always seems to get shoved back for new content or (gasp) more jedi crap. with the anticipation killing me, since this would test anyone's patience, i got really excited over the DEV/correspondant meeting, and the whispers of the resulting revamp docs. this led to my previous frustration. I dont really mind that JTL seems to be a priority, and as a pilot im really looknig foreward to it, but there is so much content in the original game that needs repair, and i dont really see how it will benefit the core player group.
over the last few months ive watched many of my fellow players and a few close friends tire of the game and close their accounts, but i keep holding on with the hope that the DEVs will come through on all the stuff theyve talked about, and make the wait worthwhile for me. thats alot of pressure to put on them, but all of this has been an act of faith on the part of the players, too.
all things considered, our profession isnt really the worst of the group; look at smuggler, for example. squad leader is another one. whats the motivation to be a ranger? commando got shafted because we're supposed to be badda$$es and we arent, but these guys never even had a chance.
when Tyrant had his interview thread going, i tried to ask him why it takes so long to make all the changes that have been in concept or development. that question got passed over in favor of those he could answer in a word or less. its a shame, really, because i think thats the kind of information that might make people a bit more understanding as to the process the DEVs go through to make this game. all we really see now are two seproate worlds. the customers (players) want a positive experience, and the DEVs are supposed to create that, but in the absence of concrete information, the space gets filled up wit rumor and speculation, and the correspondants are left trying to clean up the mess... Where is the customer service?
this really isnt meant to sound like a rant, garvin; its more like resigning to fate.
