Hi,
Is it possible to get your hands on a at-at? I have seen people with a at-st, any real use for them, or are they just for show?

AT-ST's are Imperial Only 9450 (human), 18,800 faction (other races)point costing pets with 55000 hp and 750-1200 damage per 2 seconds (I think that is it). They only attack rebels who are overt and rebel NPCs. So no normal things. No AT-AT's in the game however.

as the previous user said - they are purely a Imperial Perk and the at-at is not a player item.
one thing he forgot to mention is that they are not used in pvp anymore - they last about 15-30sec vs most pvp groups and the faction point cost hurts big time.

That would be wrong. They are 1) wandering NPCs 2) for player events that went thru special planing and 3) some times in static city events

Untrue. Wrong is to be false. That is not false in any way. It is simply incomplete.
Everything I said is true about AT-ST's. I just didnt write about the NPC ones.

I saw one on Yavin last night. Pretty sure no event was happening or ocurred. Some mountany area.

The highlighted statement is wrong. There are AT-ATs in the game, I was not making any mention to the AT-STs.
And there have been several sightings of AT-ATs wanding around dant and a few other places. Mainly player event things but also occasionaly seen in the "Wild"

Anyway, back to the point . . . 
You cannot, atm, buy an AT-AT, but presumably as an Imperial you will be able too once the GCW revamp comes out. They were going to come out with the last patch as player event perks, but at the last moment all faction stuff was yanked, because you cannot attack them, and devs want factional stuff attackable.
You can buy an AT-ST using your faction points, from an Imperial Recruiter. At the moment you must be overt to purchase and use them. As stated in a post above, don’t waste it in PvP. I just purchase two of them for PvE. Now before someone screams and yells “YOU CAN’T USE THEM IN PvP” know that you are right, and wrong.
Right now, you cannot use them in PvE, but as soon as the latest publish (13.1) goes live, which should be any day now, you will be able to use them in PvE, and it will probably (hopefully) be worth it.
