Thread: Grenades = ouch!

I hope the newly made gnades are better than the converted ones. I just tossed a converted Imperial det on a cl7 mob. I am 4444commando/MBH. All my specials...medic, BH specials...even burst and stad all hit a timer from the gnade toss that resulted in me standing there taking abeating at 17 dmg per hit from 3 of these for a full minute. Yeah..I could do nothing at all..not even heal for that minute. I can understand a cooldown..but at least make the gnades worth throwing then.


gnade's stats are as follows


attack speed 106.9

modified AS 70.08

dmg 327-714

est dps 4.86

mod dps 7.42

radius 30

range 0-64

attack costs 94


It is totally worthless to use them in this current state. I dont get it, the gnades n the TC worked just fine.

oops i didnt see your post, but yeah i had the same probelm, TC they worked fine, i think it is bugged, on TC i could only throw 1 about every minute, i think the code got screwed and made it so we cant do anything for a minute. i hope they fix it fast. or nades are gonna be worthless

Hey guys, in my own small effort to keep the FS folks from raiding your boards, can you tell me what type of xp grenades give now so I can pass that along and squash a few dreams?

yeah. This is rediculous. One hell of a bug.


I'd like to know why there is such a nasty timer on grenades anyway. It's rediculous. It dosen't make ANY sense to me what's been done to grenades.

but as you can see from my original post...you get combat xp, but they do little damage, and they are on a heavy timer...there is no possible way to grind FS with them (note: Im not whining about that as I already have a jedi in the temporarly disabled knight trials) I just want to throw a gnade and it do something besides turn me into a helpless meatlump for a minute.


1) make them on a seperat timer from everyhting but gnades


or


2) leave them all on the same timer like they are now, but bump the dmg x1000 so that when you throw it, everyone in range is dead or really really hurt.


as they are now, they arent even good in groups as they have so little damage. That was an Imp det that I was throwing! not a C12.

Just summited this bug is anyone else having this issue.



  • Your Character Name Pfej
  • Server name Kauri
  • The specific weapon in your inventory that was converted Proton grendaes and grenade wiring kits
  • Describe the item as best as possible


    • including the name of the item Proton grendaes
    • its statistics if you have them attack speed 108 DPS 6.56
    • what specifically is out of balance. Master Commando required and you only get 6 DPS this havs made them 100% useless. Even for A Novice Marksman.

    • including the name of the item. Grenade Wiring Kit
    • its statistics if you have them only stat 100 uses, nothing else. Will not go on grenades saysits defective
    • what specifically is out of balance.


I have over 15 crates of this ..... umm stuff.


Yes i was ... WAS grenade grinding and yes i am and will be Master Commando either with Pfej or my alt when and if I get it.

I was encountering the same problem last night, sounds like it is just a bug.Gernades cool-down should be seperate timer not a global one.

I was playing with nades last night in pvp and found that not all 'nades have insane gimp timers. Protons, imps, and thermals you can't spam, but you're not screwed for a minute. It's more like 6 or 7 seconds or so which I think is fair. And my protons, even though they don't do 6k damage anymore, still pack a nasty punch.

I didn't have any C12's or C22's to test with, but it looks like 'nades are a fair tactical choice now. I love the kd effect from imps. Running around pvping last night I chucked an imp at a group of imps who were chasing me down and bam! They all fall down go boom. Then I rooted 'em and ran like hell... into 3 more who then smoked me.

This morning. Just to try out the Cu before I went to work, I threw a couple of grenades. What made me happy, unless Im just not really getting too deep into it with only a few minutes to play. The timer on the grenades didnt seem to be any longer. Yes I do use grendes to grind my last 593k fs xp. So Im hoping during double xp week Ill be done. And the grenades till give out combat xp.

Our top issues currently stand from when I posted them in the commando CU bug thread - this is in the Top 5 bracket. This coming week is going to be really hectic for me, so it may be a few days until I get everything out to you folks (updated guide, official updated issues, new state of the profession, etc) - plus, I want to wait at least a little bit until the commotion with the CU ties down, and some of the Top 10 issues that are bugs, could potentially get fixed. Im relaying concerns/ideas/issues/etc to the corr forums in the bug posts/discussion threads there...so don't worry about that
