Thread: Commando or Teras Kasi?

Depends, if your in a guild with a ton of ranged people, and no tanks, they may thank you for being a TK. But ranged, especially commando, got a major upgrade, so that may be your best bet.
TKM is absolute crap for damage now though.
I am using Tk/rifle and learnign about comm now. TK+ranged is very nice imo. Not the best pvp setup but very functional and powerful in pve.
The other people here can give you more opinions on commando though.
However I will say, the explosives branch has some nice defenses that stack with your TK defenses making you that much harder to hurt.
With TKM?Master Commando, there's pros and cons.
PROS:
1) Saving money. Your armor doesn't wear out, since you don't have any. Cha ching.
2) Good Offensive/Defensive mix. You hit hard (commando), and can take a fairly good beating (TK)
3) Building on #2, you can fill a few different roles in a group, making your chances for being picked up for missions greater.
4) Meditate. Self buffing is great, for that +500 to your health bar for 5mins...and the Force of Will for those not-so-fresh moments...oh and medics cant heal wounds anymore, nov doc does...so you can med your wounds away.
CONS:
1) No specials. Commandos rely on other ranged classes for their big hits. *for me this is a HUGE Con*
2) Lack of complimentary weaponry. Goes hand-in-hand with #1
You'll have to evaluate your playstyle. I loved being a Master Commando/TKM, but I decided to be more of a damage dealer so I went with MCommando/MSmuggler well before CU. I dabbled with MCommando/TKM as my first respec, and found it didn't suit my playstyle (I'm a GCW nut...faction points are my lifeblood...had to take smuggler back).
Good luck finding your style. =)
CONS:
1) No specials. Commandos rely on other ranged classes for their big hits. *for me this is a HUGE Con*
The one thing that I did was keep Master Marksman and all the specials that it includes, so I have some specials for the Commando Weapons.I know that they are not that great, but as a TKM...I'm a tank, not a damage dealer. I've found that I can do a KD, switch to a Flamerthrower, throw on a Fire DOT, and go back to tanking, without taking a huge damage hit.
2) Lack of complimentary weaponry. Goes hand-in-hand with #1
Being a lvl 80, you are able to wield all the weapons that don't have a master cert. I have a FWG5 that hits for over 300DPS at 1.5 spd, which works very well.
