I've been a commando on and off since the game started and have about a dozen flamers laying around. I went through all of them and found that with one exception they converted to max damages in the 900's.

The other one converted to 1212 max... my old best one only converted to 997. My DPS of 460 on the 1212 is far better than the 388 on the other. (I'm at L65 for reference)

Anyone else seeing plasmas in that power range?

No, the only one that converted well for me was one that I was about ready to toss. concversioned stuff is all fubar.

Got a decent 477 DPS plasma conversion.

Vasarian Brandy Master Swordsman, Master Doc
Ladi Deathstrike Master Commando, MBH, Pistoleer 0004.

well u cant just go on the dps with flamers becaus ethe speed gaps can really change that dps factor.. so far im still abit puzzeld with my flamers too.

My pre-CU 3 million cr 2.4 speed 645-945 converted to 1.69 401-941 with a DPS of 472, I also have another converted to 1.97 492-1009 with a DPS of 445.

Similar experience here, my 2 best krayts turned out with lower dps than my old grinding flamer, my gorax LP is junk now too.

I don't think it all in the DPS - I believe action cost is something that will need to be looked at. I went and purchasedalot of flamethrowersto see how the game play was. The one with the highest DPS (action cost 122) Ihad problems maintaining enough action to do specials with, the one with the least action cose (107) I seemed to do more specials - however I still did run out quick.

I had a 2.0 929 flamer before that converted to complete crap....DPS of 420. I went and build another Krayt flamer using imp stock and -.69 tissues 84 damage and got one with 2.56 1010. and got a 1% speed slice. The final DPS was 495. I am finding that the speed and wound and damage caps are very much annoying. It seems you can no longer make an uber weapon. I made another one with just -.59 tissues 79 damage and came up with the same damage and speed. the imp stock speed was completely useless in the other.

EXACTLY!

i traded in my best flamer DPS of 530 action cost of 122 for a flamer with DPS of 480 and an action cost of 100.

the 480/100 allows me to dish out quite alot more damage before i run out of action.

ironically it hits just as hard, its just .14 seconds slower...

as if THAT made a difference.
