Hi,
First, I only had one night to play and then I had to head for the weekend. I picked MC and as much pistoleer as I could, which I think means I am now screwed... tried to do some missions and ended up cloning a lot... I would be doing ok against one guy my level (trying to use disarm, etc) and then something else would attack too, be it a howler, or another NPC and it would be game over... I used to do 10k per hit with my ft and now it's around 500 or so... is this common - this doesn't seem more powerful to me? How do you take lower level missions to grind out money, or something, as I lost a lot of money doing insurance and trying to clone on stations it said I couldn't see... :-(
I hope that this game is still playable for people who like to play solo - mainly because I have a family and I don't like having to keep online appointments when there are times it can't be done. I usually play my toon for a couple of hours in the evening. I really liked the playing set up before as I could play solo and still enjoy most of the game. I don't mind new rules as long as I can still play solo.
Thanks,
MC on Lowca...

A couple key things to remember when solo'ing.
- If you're getting into trouble and can't handle multiple targets, try single-pulling with somethinglike a normal blaster. Remember, the FT damage is only doing 10% base + 100% elemental damage right now, so running around and coning everything won't work. Focus on single targets if you can.
- If unforseen adds are a problem (which they can be) try taking a mission from a lesser-populated outpost, I found wilderness spawns by my missions to be vastly reduced in these cases.
- If you aren't already, wear a full suit of your best assault armor. Since things hit kinetic in PvE, this will be a big boon to defense.
- The best commando grinding weapon IMO is the Heavy Lightning Beam Cannon - remember, there's more to us than just the flamethrower now.
Using the afformentioned tactics I've been able to solo yellows using MBH/MC... albeit the second I get an add from somewhere I'm dead.

I've had good luck taking missions for NPCs out of Loc. Because there is no respawn, you don;t have to worry as much about adds.

Soloing is possible, but different. Experiment, and remember that you don't want to try and take more than 1-2 mobs at a time now (no more running around 6 stormies flame cone 2'ing them to death, while you do your laundry, watch a movie, and do a round on the treadmill at the same time).
Ask a friend to 'duel' with you, so you can set your buttons up and find out what specials work with your playstyle.
Oh, and get yourself some everyone-can-use stims, might just save your butt.
