Thread: Hope we didn't mess this up

I realize that technically all the ranges were messed up, after everyone knows that heavy weapons aren't meant to be shot off at point blank or the shooter losses an arm, catches himself on fire..etc. But that's real life and in this game I'm not sure if that's how the computation worked, at least with heavy weapons. I've seen the only heavy weapons I have on my server, flame thrower and launcher pistol do very similar damage and hit ratios regardless of the range. This makes me think the penalty for heavy weapons at less than ideal ranges are small compared toa regular pistol, carbine..etc.

Anyone else notice this?

If so, I hope they don't suddenly drop a big range penalty on us that wasn't there before due to our complaints about how it relates to real life, when in fact this is a computer simulation and what's important is how the stats are derived.

Even at medium range(15m-20m)realism would denote that flamethrowers/AR would still cause huge amounts of damage.

Well for pvp the flamethrower does cause alot of wounds. I guess in a way that slows down your enemy in some weird way. As do our glop and cryoban grenades. They cause alot of nasty woundage. The launcher pistol can on a really hard hit Ive given 250 wounds to someone. Frag grenades are a waste for the time they take to throw.
