Read the various postings. Very hard to make sense of it because it seems inconsistent. Some nights I hit a lot, some nights I don't hit at all. Flame single much more consistent, although it misses obviously.
Where is the primer from our master c's? Hehe
My problem I think is that it is hard to visualize the cone. If I have three enemies equidistant from one another at 5m or less, is that within the cone? Or am I too close? What is the AOE of the cone?
I understand that the enemy needs to actually be engaged in combat with the "X", not simply aggroed. But it is hard to figure out what may be causing the misses, or more importantly, what is causing the hits. LOL.
Thanks in advance for some practical tips.

im no expert, but ive noticed if you stand a bit further away (like 10 m)from a group of enemies that are like 2-6 m apart, then itll hit

AHA! So close range may be too close, which makes sense when you think of a cone. I would love the game to give you soem kind of target range indicators for specials. Prolly impossible, but it would be nice to have targets highlighted when in range of a special.

I seriously doubt it has anything to do with distance to target. I use mine quite a lot and it works like a charm for me. the key is choosing the right target from the group....something in the middle. When doing pumba's on endor, I regularly start the DOT on 3-5 of them if they are clustered up around a pet or groupmate. I then single2 the individual mobs. I haven't noticed any different effect if they were 16m or 2m.

What I usually do is target something towards the back of the "pack" when mobs are bunched up... that way I can make sure they are all in the 16m range when I fire. I learned this the hard way after using cone on the near target (the one I tabbed first) from 14-16m and then was wondering why I only hit one or two instead of four.
