Thread: Heavy weapons? Only used once??
It's a limited uses weapon...once last one is used...it is no more. About 30 uses per weapon.
They cost a great deal to make...and therefor a great deal to buy. If you account the money per shot...it is rediculous.
For a heavy armor piercing weapon...you're better off using a T21 or something...you can spam that infinite.
Grenades and HW weaps are not all that useful at all.
Personally, I find heavy weapons very useful, especially the heavy pbc and the rocket launcher. You can 1 shot 1 kill a high HAM target with either - and the rocket launcher wreaks havoc if the enemies are clumped together. On ahazi, you pay around 500 creds per shot. If you fire one or two shots per mission on missions that pay 5500 creds you are still way ahead financially and seriously diminish the threat to you getting seriously injured/incapped. Also, the heavy pbeam is great in pvp - 1 shot 1 kill even if the target is buffed up.
For heavy weapons and grenades both, a kneel-aim-fire macro greatly increases their effectiveness (and specials for the HAR and flamer too).

I think Flame Trowers have infinite. Correct me if i'm wrong.
You're right
Flame throwers and HAR's are both infinite shot weapons
Heavy weapons (heavy particle beam cannon, rocket launcher, and one or two more than I forget the name of) and grenades are all 'fire and forget' weapons which have charges to them.
best hvy weaps of damage/cost: HPBCs and HASs (hvy particle beam cannon + hvy acid streamer)
i get em at 10k and 11k per 30 charges respectively, still they shouldnt be 30 charges - i remember when they were 200 charges for crying outloud!
and the rocket launcher, for its amount to buy, is quite worthless even on master commando (i get em for 30k for 30 charges, and most sell em for at least 50k...totally not worth it atm)
The only way RLs will become worth their price is when blast damage vulnerability is implemented on AT-STs and Turrets. At about 1200 credits per shot, you'll need to be taking out an extremely high-priority target.
