I've recently returned after a rather lengthy break. I am currently working on FSS xp. However, I noticed something about xp. Is the cap on heavy weapons xp lower than other weapons? I seem to get about 1200 more xp per kill with my scatter than I do with my flamer or llc when hunting hurton stalkers on Dant. I've checked and rechecked this and It always comes out the same? What the hell, are we now getting less xp as well as all the other problems we have?
Anyway, if anyone could enlighten me I'd much appreciate it. (also, it seems there is no group xp bonus anymore, is this true?). Also any timps to grinding out FSS (other than grenades). Thanks

Our HW experience is capped at approximately 3500, and has been for a while. 
I really don't see the devs ever fixing that.

gee, great. Evidently combat xp goes off this cap too (10% of what you get with a weapon) so in addition to all our other problems, it takes us longer to gain FSS xp than other classes too ( i can take down hurton howlers, which are close to cap, at the same speed with my scatter as i can the llc or flamer). Let me guess, that came about because we were stealing the xp in groups, like anyone even groups for xp anymore. hmm, 3500 / 30 = 116. 1,200,000 / 116 = 10,344. Thas 10,344 kills for maxing one FSS tree (yes, i know combat xp gives more).

3500 / 30 = 116
350 / 3 = 116
1,200,000 / 232 = 5,172 kills for a FSS tree. 31,032 kills for all 6 FSS trees.
Keep in mind that 1.2mil is a low estimate (its actually a bit higher) and that you'll rarely get max xp, more like 3100 or so. So by my 'kind' estimate, you're talking 50k kills give or take. How this is better, how this helps 'casual' gamers, how this is 'good content' or even remotely interesting is beyond me. The whole thing is nothing but an endless grind. And they wonder why macros are so popular.
Sorry for the rant, but I was really hoping for some good changes. I think I'll hold out for CU, or maybecancel till then, but I think thats gonna be the deciding point for me.

It is one of Garvin's big issues and he is pressing that it get fixed.

no other class can get FS XP faster than commando...try going unarmed and using grenades... fastest I've capped was 30 minutes or so (yupyup that's 300K combat XP). It can be done even faster though (knowing you can get 112k Combat XP with nades from a lvl99 giant bazznitch mission).
getting FS XP is only of the only things the commando's can't complain about

Yeah, if you have an unlimited supply of nades a master weaponsmith alt or loads of cash (no to mention money to keep repairing your armor). I just so happen to have the smith, but alot of people do not, and i burned through quite a bit of nades to cap once (although I will admit it went fairly quickly, just a few missions on dantooine for test purposes). dont forget buffs as well. I happen to be able to afford a second account atm, but most cant or wont. Theyre main option is getting buffed and using hvys, with the occasional grenade for a little extra combat xp.
