I suspect that they just released the ONE statement about the upgrade/revamp/rebalance just to shut us up and buy themselves some time.

I am with you...Would fit right into my CU in June post I made a few weeks ago....

Do what I did, cancel your account, play some other games for a while, then come back in January or February when it finally makes its way to the Test Center and see what you think...Then you can decide if you want to stay, or just quit again and wait for the GCW revamp...
This game is going to get VERY good. It's got all the pieces to be a great game, but the pieces are all half-finished. Once the pieces are finished, we can start building a glorious future...Have some fun with friends, do something just crazy...Heck, my wife's guild and I went crawling around Theed and Coronet begging for money and booze....in our hawtpants and pajamas....It was great....And it was a night of just being silly and roleplaying our characters to the hilt.... (the guild is named HOBO)
Making SWG greatwill take time, like all things....I'm not going anywhere...Nothing else interests me....If SWG craters, this will be my first and last MMORPG...
Personally, my timeline says:
Combat Upgrade - Live onFebruary 15th (but notgreat until March 15th)
Non-Combat Upgrade - Live on May 15th
GCW Revamp - Live on August 15th
Next Expansion (New habitable worlds Hoth and Kashyyk) - October 15th

That is EXACTLY what would happen if they announced a schedule for the CU....
Think about it...if TH makes a post that says the following (or about):
"Players...This is the anticipated timeline we have for the Combat Upgrade:
January 1st: Sandbox goes online
February 1st: Sanbox closes, data is analyzed and the coding process begins
March 1st: Invite beta begins. Combat docs released via CU forums (set up exactly like JTL forums)
April 1st: CU hits test server, with one of the major servers being copied over (i.e. - TC-Ahazi) for the specific testing of the CU. Green frogs are EVERYWHERE. TC-(insert galaxy name) crashes due to server load...If you will remember, Ahazi was copied over to TC for the specific reason of PvPing...I am guessing that was a testing ground for the sandbox hardware. IMHO, not all servers are notcreated equal. I remember the GSP city on Talus was an awesome ranged leveling ground, because the GSP's couldnt hit you. They fixed it on Ahazi, however, it took them a month to fix it on Kauri. The resource spawns on Ahazi have always seemed ahead of the rest of the servers, with the exception of maybe Bria....

Many players, I am guessing30 (+/- 5)percent would cancel the minute that announcement is made, to wait for the CU to hit test. Then, maybe half that would come back. If 30 percent of every server cancels, that is a WHOLE lot of revenue gone, with the chance of regaining half that. People will cancel, and they will say they are waiting. Then they completely lose interest and never come back.
I can understand TH's reluctance to announce any sort of timeline. I really can, from a business standpoint. But, the non-communicado that seems to be the MO of SOE, is wearing increasingly thin. You dont have to tell me when the CU is going to hit live, but give me a target date for the sandbox. Fudge it a little if you have to...Say it will be online in 4 weeks, but in reality it is 6 weeks. We are used to delays. No big surpise if it IS delayed. One step further, we are USED to be lied to (the players, not just Commandos in general LOL)....So one more lie isnt going to hurt him, because his credibility is already shot. Its not like anyone is going to believe him anyway. Release the combat docs. Start getting feedback from the player base. Hell, have a beta forum for the them, even if they arent in play on some server yet.
