Hello everyone,
I have been reading a few responds and see that a lot of people talk about the lp... So, is it really that good? I usedthe lpto get some heavy weapons xp in order to use my ft and then never looked back... Right now my template isTKA 4/0/2/4, Master Marksman, Master Commando and Novice medic for stim B's. Do pistol defences make up for lost TKA defences?
Thanks

Ok the LP, well.... heh where should I start? The LP is a fairly good pistol because of the blast damage that it deals out but the bad thing is that there are no skills for it. Meaning that if you want it to be truly effective you need to pick up some BH pistols or some Pistoleer skills. Hopefuly when the CU they will make the LP its own unquie weapon with new abilities. And another thing bad about it is that when you use it you dont get heavy weapon XP, you get pistol XP which means that it is a worthless commando weapon unless you need it for BH or Pistoleer.

Before the golden age, LPs gave exclusively Pistol XP. That was fixed, unfortunately either Melee Defense 1 or 2 (the knockdown in Pistoleer, forget which...and correct me if thats not the full name!) with the LP still gives pistol xp.
Anyways, the Launcher Pistol...aside from its lag...can be considered one of the best pistols in the game. On rankage, Id say its number two on the list...but if AP 1 was added, it would definately be first. Now, we know AP is going out the window in the CU...so it may very well be one of the best pistols in the game after that...
For now though, if you want a good LP and keep good defenses....take up 0-3-0-4 at least in TKA, and Pistol Techniques IV (special defenses and pistol specials) in Pistoleer, combine that with a very fast/dmging LP to compensate for speed/accuracy.
