I was never good in PvP but in PvE before CU I did fine. ...not the DPS of TKM orSwordsman in PvEpre-CU, but fine. Now I can't get experience to finish Pistoleer 0404 because level 70+ Imperial NPCs wipe me out. ...if there are more than one on me at a time, they do me fast!

I really liked the idea but I guess that "balance" doesn't mean that any 2 elite combat professionscan drop a one or 2 70+ NPCs solo.

Edit: ...nevermind. Respec'd my Commandoto MBH/Master Rifleman. I waited with Commando for more than a year. I just handled a couple pairs of 82s no problem solo with my new template. Adios Commando and Smuggler.

Skysco, what two branches of Commando would you choose to go along with Master Smuggler/Master Teras Kasi?

Master Commando/Master Smuggler here too and I LOVE IT!!!! With a combat lvl 80 the only time I have died is when I went near a great Kimo. Learn your specials is the key.

Not respeccing and keeping Master Commando/Master Smugg was the best move I made...it's finding a place for those other points that I need work on =) Took some pistoleer for Body Shot...not sure if I'll keep it but it does nice damage (450-750 a hit).

Sorry my friend, can't agree with you on this thread. Commando/Smugg is tasty.

Have to agree with all the above. Respeced to MC/MS with some Cm thrown in and it works very well not noticable difference in ability to many master rifles/ bounty hunters I have been hunting with. Also the root ability is fantastic against those non spitting mobs.

Also with the spices being the way they are now I forsee the spice trade exploding

Master various ranged back to master commando again (now with added skill points )

I guess everyone sees things differently. I just completed my master commando master smuggler template, and I have to say, I had zero trouble dealing with my level 82 missions solo. Root, snare, kd, fire, blindness, ... I'm not really sure what state I can't stick outside of poison and disease. Root is even great against spitting mobs (mobs spit out to pistol range and laser rifles don't require a profession cert).Everyone prefers different playstyles, but I think this is one profession combination that can kick some sertious tail, and get out of trouble in a hurry if need be (area effect+root+ anyone?).

I may try out a couple more templates while the respec is available, just for giggles, but I love smuggler/commando.

When searching for what to do with extra points, I narrowed it down to BH Pistol skills (underhand shot is fantastic) or Pistoleer. I ended up opting for the second: pistoleer 0404. The snaring and rooting attacks are unbeatable. I now have enough specials that there's always one available.

I'd say Flames and Heavy weapons.... Others who feel otherwise?

from what i gathered here, everybody is saying the 'low blow' is why you are all smugglers (along with the FD, im sure) why would you need any more than, 0/0/4/0 smug?
