Thread: MC/MBH vs MC/MS
i tried both. first MC/MBH = amazing (critical shot = high damage shot) incredible. greats build.
MC/MSmuggler =
no high damage shot.
low blow = worthless
last ditch = amazing (only 1 scenario when you can use it, right before your demise)
FD= amazing.
reckless shot = worthless shot
my opinion, its better to dabble in smuggler. and go MBH.
i use the 0/0/4/0 smug. for the, FD (PVE and work PVP now)
- Overwhelming shot is great b/c it makes them vulnerable to state changes from you or anyone in your party. Always lead with this.
- Concussion Shot stops them dead in their tracks. every time. This is always my second shot.
- Reckless and Restraining shots are very nice snares... kinda redundant with the concussion shot, but it keeps them from charging if you stick them with that after concussion.
- Panic Shot will make you a lot of melee friends since it delays the next attack.
- Last Ditch has done over 4k damage for me, ending a fight when I needed it over.

Ok... low blow still needs a knock down, but other than that, smuggler is just fine, thank you. Now you take all those attacks and put an AoE on them with commando weapons and you have the definition of crowd control!
Dead wrong. that is not a bonus. it is absolute redundancy.
if you are using the 'correct' commando weapons. you can produce the same effects as the majority of the smuggler weapon -specials. The remainder, you can take from the BH specials.
as far as 'last ditch' is concerned. there is only one 'optimum' time to use this special = when your health bar is at its lowest...thus, producing the most powerful shot. yes, this is amazing and worth 'dabbling' in.
With the 'critical shot' @ the MBH master box...it hit for almost 7x as much as any smuggler shot ( except for 'last ditch').
Here is what it boils down to...
MBH/MC = kill them fast....i mean..very fast.
MS/MC = 'toy' with them (for a much longer duration) until your health runs out and you an use 'last ditch' ..then hope its enough to put them down.

PVP:at least..30 duels in using each build.
I easily won 90% of those with the MBH/MC build. mostly lost to a couple UBER jedi and 1 Mpistol/MBH/0/4/0/0 CM (that is pretty uber in the right hands and 'arguably' the games best build)
MC/MS build I was lucky to last vs. anyone. Just doesn't produce enough damage output (with smuggler specials) and I'm not the kind of guy to sit around and hope 'last ditch' is gonna hit the target and win for me.

PVE: High end content = DWB, KRAYTS (after the fix), NS, Ewoks (lol)
ahh, well... to each their own. I really wasn't trying to say that MS is "better" than any other template. I was trying to say that it wasn't useless.
There are obviously a large number of useful templates that all have the high and low points. It mostly boils down to personal playing style and RPing.
On a personal note, I think it is possible to talk about template variations without getting upset! Relax. No one is going to force you to play Master Smuggler. Just don't ask me for slices. ![]()
