Hey all, I finally made novice commando tonight (after about 1 1/2 months work). I'm pretty excited to be here, but I have a question. Is the LP supposed to give pistol AND heavy weapon xp? I tried mine out tonight and only seemed to be getting the heavy weapons xp. I need pistol because I am trying to run up the Pistol Techniques tree. Could someone please fill me in?

it has been testified be some that using pistol specials for the LP with grant a little pistol xp and HW xp. I haven't had any first-hand accounts with this yet since noone can currently make LP's due to the lack of dolovite to be written into the game.

Thanks for the info. However, I was using HealthShot 2 the whole time and didn't get any. Well, what can you do. I'll just use my DX2 for pistol xp for the time being.

I've been getting partial pistol weapon xp whenever i use my pistol moves from my smuggler tree (last ditch). It doesnt seem to be proportional to the damage done by the specials though. I ususally spam last ditch when using my LP, and dmg dealt by last ditch is probably 90 to 95% of total dmg dished out. Pistol xp is usally under a hundred even though HW xp is around 1k to 2k.

That's odd, when I use my LP all i get is HW xp and I run the gambit from suppression fire/warning shot to stopping shot/fan shot.

Yeah, LP's only give HW exp for me. However, it also gives you Combat Exp if you wanna go up the one tree that uses that exp. It's good cause it adds pistol speed plus melee knockdown. However, that also keeps you from going up the Field Tactics tree. I'll probably get one box in that tree for pistoleer and then concentrate all my combat exp to Field Tactics afterwards. Not that you cared...

I found that I am getting Pistol Weapons XP with my Launcher Pistol whenever I use specials out of the Ranged Weapons Support Abilities tree, specifically SuppressionFire1 and WarningShot. I haven't tested ThreatenShot so Im not sure if that gives you some as well, but the amount of XP you get is pretty minimal, id say something like 10%, kinda like with Combat XP.
