Thread: Flame Throwers backfire?!?/Acid Rifle.. what's the deal?
Eh just 2 points here.. I noticed while pvpin with a FT yesterday.. a bh used either KD fire or torso shot on me.. long of the short.. I was on fire.
(sorry for the vaugeness here it happened pretty quick)
However I used single taget special1 for the FT on the said person.. and recieved some sort of .. 'backfire due to burning' message.. I did 1700 damage to myself. died instantly.. anyone else experience this? or perhaps clarifty what/what makes it do so? ![]()
Secondly .. what (if any) advantages does the acid rifle have vs the FT .. to my knowledge .. there is no dot.. not durastive wounds (which I was semi expecting from acid. .
was just curious if there was any reason to use this weapon aside from the damage type difference?
No what he said was he had gotten shot and lit on fire from the BH's torso shot.
And then when he used the flamethrower he got a message saying it backfired and he flamed himself and died.
That is really strange because I was chasing an imp in anchorhead and both of us had flamethrowers. We both lit each other on fire but there was no backfiring. It is realistic for that to happen and too funny!
I tested this out today.. it's some random chance.. around 40% of so .. when you take fire damage (heat damage?) with a flamethrower armed..
Got the message something like You use <targetname>'s flamethrower to spray hot fire on them for 2152 damage.
Yes.. over 2k damage one hit .. in pvp.. the other guy had a flame thrower.. he did it to me a couple as well.. pretty ugly fire fight.
Looking back on original post. .the BH musta torso shotted me.. as I did take a tick of fire around 1700 and did the the message I just spoke of.. just my warning.. watch out with yer FT.. that baby can back fire..
.... and it ain't pretty ....
