MC/MBH/0004Pistoleer here. Great offense and defense combined. I am having a blast with it. Heavy weapons combined with BH mods is pretty sweet, and thats with Commando being somewhat bogged down atm. Jedi fights are up and down. One fight I get it handed to me like it was nothing and then the next fight I totally roast the Jedi. Also, I have been tanking higher end pve mobs pretty decently. Its a fun template thats for sure.

MCommando is a dangerous template for Jedi hunting. Many Jedi will be near MOBs that you don't want to aggro (for example, fighting a Jedi + 4 CL80 Bols would not be fun.) The weapons, as I recall, don't do much damage either except for the plasma flamethrower... which has signifigant AoE.

Yeah it's dangerous if yoru not careful. But MBH+MCom does give you ALOT of general ranged speed/acc mods. If your lucky enough to be able to combine it with tapes and AAs for say. Carbines and pistols (the main BH weapons) your golden.

From the perspective of being a commando first. yeah It's a lot of fun. Plenty useful. I've got het same template on my commando toon. Along with some of pistoleer. Works just fnie for me in mass PVP. Kinda bites on 1v1 PVP. Works like a charm in high end PVE. I've hunted lairs of rancors etc using a flamethrower etc. It was alot easier when the smuggler concussion shot was a root. But now that it's not I just traded it for the pistoleer root. So I'm still doing the same thing really. Nice big area rooting. Stay out of range. blaze away.

I think personally onc ethey fix the AOE issue. It'll make for a very strong profession from the commando perspective. As the mods you get from BH stack with your commando mods. That isnt to say other profession choices wouldnt work well either. I found also going Rifleman/Commando/master marks Worked veery well too. At least for PVE.

It's got my mark (pun intended). I respec'ed from a MC/TKA, to MC/BH. My plan though is to finsih up the BH tree, and take Rifleman skills instead of Pistoleer. Most Commando weapons are classed as Rifles, so in theory, our weaponry should benefit more from the general mods plus Rifle mods....Unless we get a really cool advanced LP to play with with a higher damage output. The Rifleman skills would be better though because as most of our weapons are classed as Rifles, it would provide us with greater variety where we would be basically restricted to the LP as a Pistoleer as beng the weapon with the best mods.

Still, the MC/MBH is a really cool and fun template to use. You are basically a master of ranged combat. You have the greatest selection or weaponry availible to you, and you get more "commando like" equipment, although from the Bountry Hunter (ie bomb droids, etc) BH has melee bonuses which stack with Commando's and the Dualist Stance supports this. There are still some chinks it seems. Some of the BH specials don't seem to work well or at all with our weapons, but maybe that's just me. All in all, it's very well rounded. Ofense, defense, ranged weaponry, melee, point effect weaponry and AoE weaponry. I think it's a great choice.

actually no. Our weapons are largely -technically- classified as rifles. But they do NOT get a bonus from the rifle mods. They do howeveer benifit from the generous general acc mods rifleman gives. But not the rifle acc mods at all.

Generally speaking MCom/MBH will give you good acc, good defences. Tends to be well rounded and have a nice attack speed for heavy weapons (Due to all the general mods in both templates)

MRifles/MCom/Mmarks will give you some ok attack speed. damned nice acc. comparitively poor defences. Though that combo also lets you wear two different types of armor (Recon and assault) as opposted to just assault. So you've at the very least got both extremes of protection in a battle.

Another MBH MCommando myself with Smuggler 4000. The AE ability to root from smug and KD from BH is very useful. Also the extra 10 points of general ranged speed from smuggler come in handy though I find myself looking for either slower hard hitting weapons or weapons with a lower SAC because I can deplete my action bar so quickly.

As far as hunting Jedi with this template, the flame DoT has thrown a few off, one bad enough he admitted it made him consider getting the jedi flame extinguish power. Unfortunately, you have to stay within 25m to use the PFT, which is right inside their kill zone.

I have the same template myself, with the extra of 0200 Rifleman and 8 FS skills (which dont' factor into combat because theyr're the luck and repair lines ).
