Thread: anyone have any tips for grinding?

b/c of the AoE im unable to get ppl to grp with me....they see "novice commando" or my LP and .../ignore Imefro....lol...any advice?..b/c i am currently grinding solo..and its very SLOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!..but oh well maybe im doomed

Change professions and level something else first. Then level commando if you really really hate your toon.

I've just levelled Master Commando (again) on Starsider.
On Starsider there were always people on Lok, at the stronghold always looking for Gurk groups.
Just tell them that you need someone else in the group to "pull" as your weapon is AOE.
What I did was levelled my toon's skills evenly and not get to ahead of myself (more rifles than Commando and vice versa) if you dedicate your time evenly to your dedicated profession you shouldn't have a problem. This is a lesson I learned from TC-EP3.

Gurk groups are good for nice fast xp, however, they tend to turn into massive furballs once the AOE is brought out since there are sometimes really massive spawns. I recommend keeping your commando goodness hidden away until you are at the actual missions, and once there being very, VERY careful how you use your weapons. The Flamethrower could be a good option for you, just make sure that the mob you want to hit is not surrounded by other mobs and that it is at the very end of your range, so that you dont aggro mobs beyond it. Your Radar is your friend.

I am having the same problem with trying to lvl up from novice commando when I am already master Carbineer. I am lvl 56 and lvl 54 things use me as a ragmop when I use a launcher pistol or a corellian destoryer. I can kill them easy with a carbine, but I get next to no exp, even if I hit them with the commando weapons first. Not fun at all. I think grouping is the only way.
