Am i wrong or cone is buggy ?

Sometime when i use cone i hit the same target like 8-10 time instead of several different target.

Someone got an explanation ??

any AOE will do that in certain situations.

Ye, it's buggy. The same thing happens with pretty much all AE attacks, like Fanshot. (I was 2-shotting crazed geonisians with a DX2 if that's any indication of how screwy it is - of course none of the others in the cone got hurt... they just got mad.)

I'll have one target and it'll get hurt by an AOE, and some other mobs will seem to get hurt (says leg shot, or arm shot), but when I target the others there is no damage.

Now I'm not sure about the damage stacking to one target, haven't thought about that possibility.

It's a bug/exploit, and is used to do massive damage in one shot.

I wonder if they'll ever fix this bug, or will it still be around 6 months from now with people exploiting it all over the place.

there are curintly 2 aoe bugs

1 if the mobs arnt attacking they dont take dameg unless they are the ones targeted (if the aoe has a stat efect like stun dizzy or burn it will usly stick tho the attack dos no dameg to them )

2 if there is a screwd up spown spot or a ton of mobs 15-20 with in the aoe attack area ensted of hiting them all like it should it will hit the thing you have targeted multibel times

alll aoe attack have thees bugs

Maddogs hit it on the nose. When you have a ton of critters dead at your feet and they continue to spawn your AOE will start to count the dead critters, except all of the damage goes into the one target you are aiming for. I have seen this used by some rifleman in the geo lab against the crazed genosians... hitting them for over 10k with thier standard attack.

All of the above is true...I've seen people train (lead) half the Geonosian mobs into the acklay spawn, kill the mobs, then spam AoE attack and hit the acklay for insane amounts of damage...this is also why Fanshot is very nice for pistoleers

No, I mean that if the corpses are in the cone of an AoE attack, the damage they would take (since they're already dead...you kind of can't kill them again) goes to the nearest thing(s). With ten Crazed Geonosians and two Alert Driodekas lined up in a nice cone with the Acklay, the corpses transfer the (let's say flamecone2, around 9kish damage...tha would be 9k x 12 = 108k.) Add the base 9k for the Acklay itself, you're hitting for a walloping 117k worth of HAM.

Thats incredible, but I wonder... Doesnt the commando have a tricky version of this, afterall we have to be within 16m for this to work. Not to mention that if you move when trying to fire it tells you that your target is out of range.

theresa spot i know of, on dath, where you can just sit and kill singing mountain clan people all day using this trick. eventually you start doing upwards of 50k per shot. its incredible. the spots usually camped by a CSR, and i dont like exploiting, so i never go there.
