About a week ago I was out fighting Bordok Lairs, and I noticed some very low experience there. I normally start off all my attacks with my Launcher Pistol using Health Shot 2 Followed with a few BodyShots, then jumping to Flame Single 2 with my Flamethrower., and just spamming that until the creature is dead. The problem was that on the Bordok Mares, I was getting nearly nil experience for the kill.
After further looking into this I found that the Bordok Mares are 100% Effective against Heat damage (or resistant, never can figure if there is a difference between the two). So for experiment's sake, I killed a Bordok mare using ONLY my flamethrower. Here was the result.
You have recieved 0 Heavy Weapon Experience
You have recieved 1 Combat Experience.
So, I dont get it, I mean you use a meathod to kill a creature, that clearly gives the creature an upperhand, making the risk great, yet 0 reward for the effort upon kill. *confused*
Yesterday I was tromping around on Dathomir, and ran into some Rancors. Now I have never solo'ed them so I thought I would just try them out, 11k ham creature seems to be in my range of what Iam hunting anyway. My first one falls quick to my flame, and I notice that the exp is pitiful.
You have recieved 628 Heavy Weapon Experience.
You have recieved 62 Combat Experience.
So that leads me to my investigation of them. They are 80% Resistant to Heat, and I try to kill one just using my Flamethrower. I recieved about 32 Heavy weapons Experience per kill with just my flamethrower.
A friend of mine brought about a good point to me. That Experience earned is based on how much damage you ACTUALLY do. So when I fire off my Flame, it may say that I hit it for 7683 dmg, yet the creature due to its high resistance may only recieve about 700 damage or even less. What may be really killing the creature is the "burn" dot, of which is not being considered ACTUAL damage that I am doing, resulting in low exp for the kill.
Is this intended that we not recieve Experience for our "burn" dot?

This was, I believe part of the publish 6 update, you no longer receive xp for the bleed/burn damage. Basically they did this to prevent people from cheating and getting really good xp for a gun they weren't very skilled with... basically people would bleed things and then wait til it had almost no health left, and pop it with something else, and gain massive xp for the second gun.
I can understand how this causes problems now, especially with FT, but there are still plenty of things you can kill that aren't 100% resistant to heat that'll give decent XP ![]()

I think I know what you are talking about. Like when you have brawlers using Vibro Knuckles without benefiting from their true potential. What I dont understand, is why can you equip it. If your not certified, then you simply should not be able to use it.
So essentially the only thing Bleed/Burn is good for is PvP.
Other then trying to save you butt when you get jumped by something big.

I'm not sure I'd go that far, basically what it's good for is taking down a more dangerous creature faster. Basically if the creature isn't 100% heat resistant, you probably won't notice a change in your XP for the most part, it's only really when the bleed/burn is doing most of the work that your XP really drops.
