lo guys i did it , just as id promised meself,
it was the flamers on the forum that did it,there i was mindin my own beeswax when i come across krayt flamethrowers for sale,
all misty eyed,with flashbacks to those heady days of roastin just about anything that moved (oct 2004) i hit the bo
now they prolly not the best (2.5 470-900ish 3.7 650-1200ish ) but i dont really care,(ill get better as and when they crop up).
i just got novice and ill be master before long(might take a while grinding gives me nosebleeds).,but ill soon be roasting with the best of em:smileywink
id like to thank those who have stuck with it (i had to drop for pvp reasons)im sure uve done a stirling job in tellin them pesky devs what we need

Those are actually really good flamers and you will have to get some badass tissues to make better then that.

It's almost freaky to read this post, because the exact thing happened to me!
I was a commando back in the day, and ended up dropping it for the hologrind. I always missed it, and vowed that I'd come back to it one day.
Last week, an old friend that used to be my weaponsmith returned from EQ2, and handed me a flamethrower, just for old times sake.
The flame beckoned, and I obeyed. I got novice commando again last night, and I'm so excited to start burning everything in sight!

I myself am working on the Commando profession. I have always had TKM and pistoleer. Then my guild needed someone with Commando 0200 for base take downs. Well I was really enjoying it and was getting bored of TKM. Then last night I met up with a WS friend and had them make me two flamethrowers with Krayt tissues and Imp stocks. They are 2.3 speed with 906 max damage. I threw an anti-decay kit on one and started to use overcharge shot 2. I am so addicted I did not want to log off. I just ran around blowing stuff up and if it made it to within 16m I would burn them. Flame Cone 1 added to the addiction. I love my flamer throwers. I had them named "Hell's Touch" and "Brimstone". I really wish I had done this earlier. So I am thinking my new template will be Master Commando, Novice SL, TK 2000, and 1000 Medic. I need to keep the Novice SL so I can hit the switch to blow up a base. Man do I love blowing things up.

I like this one too but it's missing the folly part and I can't figure out where to put it.
Commando...If you have to ask then you're not ready to know. Throw the nade, shoot the rocket, obey the flame.

Hmm... that's an interesting template. I've been trying to decide what I want to compliment Commando with. I've still got rifles, so I figured that's a very damage-oriented template... master commando, master rifles, novice medic.
Oh, glad to hear you guys like my Commando Mantra

I think this template will work for what I want to do. Only problem it is a point hog. I am lovin every second of Commando so being a Master is a must. I need TK 2000 so I can meditate off diseases and poisons, Medic so that I can heal my wounds and damage during a fight, and well SL to blow up bases. Add to the fact that with the new GCW there should be even more bases for me to go after. I think the only thing more addictive then setting someone on fire is watching their base blow up. I really like to stand in the doorway and do /flex as it blows up behind me.

Hahaha... classic!
I also contemplated going with Master Commando, 0/0/1/3 Squad Leader (for Form Up and Retreat), Novice Medic.
As you mention, it's a TON of skill points wrapped up in pre-reqs, and I opted to keep the Rifleman skills instead of the Squad Leader.

Man that is pure genius, totally sums up why so many of us have stuck with Commando for so long. That has to go in my sig and should probably be put across the top of the Commando Forum lol
