Thread: another thought by some guy

i was looking over the skill mods that we have for flamer compared to rifle


master rifle with master marks gets 170 acc and 95 speed


commando flamer is 80 acc and 45 speed


for just master marks it is 60 acc and speed 30


if rifle did not get any skills from marks like we do they would have 110 acc and 65 speed not all that great of a difference from what we are


by adding say 60 acc and 30 speed for the flamer in the marks profession we would be closer to other elite ranged


with an acc of 140 and speed of 75 we would be faster then carbine and have same acc and slower then pistol but with better acc but both slower and less acc then rifle


might be nice to add it into ranged weapon support for marks that would give the bh some more mods for the LLC


thus ends another thought by some guy

As I understand it, in Beta, there was only the Heavy Weapons Speed/accuracy modifiers. These were split in the FT and HAR trees. These added TOGETHER (both trees) gave 90 Speed (+45/+45) and 160 Accuracy (+80/+80). This is the same as what a rifleman gets at Master. (This is from swgcb.yogn.net Character Builder. Some subsequent accuracy bumps may have been added to Commando to get us to +110 accuracy for each).

When they rolled out the game, the Heavy Weapon modifiers were split between FT and HAR. This cut in half our speed and accuracy modifier potential (and is also the act that caused us to have no skill attachments.)

I completely agree with you that in the short term, until the CU is presented, that giving some speed/accuracy to Commandos for the FT/HAR would make a world of difference, especially since we are denied any other way to boost our mods (Powerups, tapes, stims). But it's been requested a thousand times and the answer is, and shall forever be, "No." But it's a good idea to suggest adding it to the Marksman tree. That could get support from the BH and Marksman communities.

I completely agree with you that in the short term, until the CU is presented, that giving some speed/accuracy to Commandos for the FT/HAR would make a world of difference, especially since we are denied any other way to boost our mods (Powerups, tapes, stims). But it's been requested a thousand times and the answer is, and shall forever be, "No." But it's a good idea to suggest adding it to the Marksman tree. That could get support from the BH and Marksman communities.

And, wow in Beta we actually had double the speed/accuracy? Geez, what were the devs thinking!

Yes, people actually FEARED the one true 100% Batlle Profession...

I too ran from many a Commando back in the day.

Actually, I don't think a lot of thinking went into it. That's how in one fell swoop we got half the speed and accuracy and got locked out of skill attachments. Not a very well considered process, imho.

No not really, considering Beta was 2 years ago...and we're still in the same situation...
