This is a bit long but would be cool. The jedi are not the only "UBER" people to have ever lived in the SW universe. The others should get some love too. Now before you shoot this idea down as you think I am just some guy that wants to be as good as a jedi without the grinding you should know a few things. First I am 1 box away from jedi and have done my fare share of grinding. 2nd this will most likely never happen and is mostly for my own hopes and dreams. 3rd as rare as Mando Armor is these guys would be even rarer. So now without anymore crap here is my idea.
Elite Hybrid Prof. Mandalorian (fighter, commmando, warrior ect ect.)
How do you become one?
First master BH, commando, SL, or ranger. Then get a full suit of matching mando armor with jetpack (told you these guys would be rare lol). Then equip the armor and go talk to Fett. He sends you on a entry quest then once you complete it he says he is starting the mandalorians backup and you can join. Upon joining you are stripped of you "non-mando" skills (ie everything that is not you master elite prof bh commando, sl, ranger and its pre reqs).
What happens next?
Well your armor is now not able to be removed and when it gets low on condition you must fix it (100% chance) with kits that Fett gives you (after doing another mission for him). You also gain access to elite skills and weapons. What tree you have access is decided by what hybrid or elite prof you did to get there. IE ranger is different that sl and that is different than BH ect. You are removed from your faction and enter a new faction (Mandalorian) and when declared (or whatever its called now) you are attackable by both rebels and imperial. Also you are not able to group with anyone other than other mandalorians (a lonely life).
What weapons you gain access to.
Rangers and SL mando gain access to a Mandalorian rifle and gain rifle skills in their Mando skill boxes.
BH gain access to a Mandalorian carb and de-10 (since this is their weapon anyway).
Commando gain access to a Mandalorion Flame thrower.
For the new weapons you will have to aquire a schem from Fett by doing a mission.
Fett also becomes your new faction "recruiter" and you can turn in faction points for stuff from him.
How powerful will they be?
Well in a word, VERY. They will rival jedi knights. Now before anyone complains about this, consider how hard it will be to become a mandalorian (if its even possible).
How good will mando armor be cause its not good right now?
Well after the CU it is supposed to be way better. But it will be very very good. It will not have special protection against LS but will have a slight resist. The resist will be like 5%, just enough so it is not vuln to it (make the fight even).
Will they get new skills?
Yes. They will all get new skills. They will all do much more damage in pvp and pve.
Think this covers most of it. What do you guys think? Other elite elite classes I would like to see. Akk Guards (read shatterpoint). No flames please as I am not trying to make my prof elite, but I just think this would be really cool to see other "uber" classes in this game, even if they dont fit the time line, I thnk the timeline is kinda jaked up now anyway.

I like the idea of adding other more 'elite' professions into the game as high-end content for those that don't want to persue Jedi. The path that you mention would indeed be brutal and, should anyone finish it, ought to be well worth the time invested. These are the type of content ideas that need to be persued by the developers, not house decorations and miniature X-Wings.
Another idea that's been mentioned several times would be the Imperial Royal Guardsmen. Imagine a system similar to what you mention, but very faction-oriented. Taking missions and reporting to the Emperor himself (moreso than the Emperor's Retreat missions)? Yes, please.

Although YOU may not like these, other players like thae, aka, crafters, loot wh0res, and even regular players.
Now onto your idea, I like this idea, although it's kinda old (I don't know of how many threads like this I've read, in these and TK forums). The problem with this is to make the class either be balanced with someone else using the same SP in combat, or if it must be better, make it hard to get, like DWB miners quest hard. Otherwise, you'll have PvP being a war between the formerly dead race known as Mandolorians, and Jedi. Not fun. Although factional versions sound really fun, and cool.

GREAT IDEA
I for one would now have a purpos with my TKM/Commando
There should be a base Mando skill tree that has to be gone up taking like 1/2 your skill points once completed, only leaving you so many skill points to use in your mando spcialisation. A seperate tree set for each of the combat profesions; Swordsman, Fencer, TK, Pikeman, Bounty Hunter, Commando, Pistoleer, Carbiner andRifleman.
