Thread: We should get a break with accuracy with LP, by its own definition.

I've never noticed the description at the bottom of the stats on the LP but it says it 'fires small target seeking rockets with explosive tips"

I noticed this as I continually missed shots using the LP, and I have noticed that while shooting at a moving target the small rockets will turn in mid flight. To me this should mean we catch a break with the pistoleer tree on accuracy when using the LP. But I'm not so sure we do. The graphic of the small rockets turning in mid air is impressive enough to make one think we're getting better accuracy with the LP than any other pistol if we dont' have the pistoleer accuracy mods maxed out, but the stats sure seem to show a lot of misses with the LP.

Nobody has any thoughts on this? I think its important since skill points are golden in this game and I hate to waste any on accuracy when my LP pistol shoots 'target seeking' rockets.

Technically, by the point where you get to an 'elite' class... let me draw a comparison...

EQ level 1 - Miss a lot, hit up to damage cap... critters take 2-3 hits most of the time

EQ level 60 - Bring friends... because while you rarely miss, hitting for 2k is nothing to a mob with 4million hps.

Since we don't gain hps (okay, okay, sort of with access to food/drink)... if we're not getting able to tank more (more hps) the damage must go through the roof. Missing shouldn't come into play more than those 'what? a miss?' combat spams...

I, untrained with pistol can manage reasonable accuracy on a non-moving target 20m away... the guy who was in the military only needs guided weapons when hitting targets out of visual range. A fully trained commando platoon (16 men) have been known to take on lesser-trained forces en masse.

Simply put, we should not miss a single target within visual range unless it is moving very fast, very small, or surrounded by heavy cover that can block the shot. However, the fact that it's a guided missile that is supposed to be fired in HTH range should clue you in... you get the nice guidance features by pressing the barrel of your gun against the critter's head. At least that appears to be the situation in devlogic...

You are dead wrong, I have missed more that 5 times in a row, at a target that is not moving, while i was kneeling~!

I was pretty much within point blank range and missed 2 times in a row against a huge target, ATST. I was dead before I got to go for 3 misses in a row.

I can understand needing to go pistoleer to get shots an even speed to some degree even though we'd have to master pistoleer to really make the LP fast but considering that would use up all our skill points just to make one weapon effective I think we deserve a break on the accuracy, ESPECIALLY considering the very definition of the LP in game upon examine says it shoots 'target seeking' small rockets with an explosive tip I might add. But I won't go into the AP value's even, I'd be happy with great accuracy from my marksman pistol tree and the fact that i'm shooting 'target seeking' small rockets with a pistol. This would also free up some skill points to allow me to get some medical and scouting skills. But if I have to master pistoleer to make it effective, I'll probably give up the LP entirely. Its just not worth mastering an entire elite profession to make it work effectively.

I'm hoping we can add this to the dev's list of things to do. If nothing else, they need to change the description to shoots small scud missles with a poorly constructed guidence system.
