Thread: Tips for unarmed exp?
Trying to get to commando (I know I know, dumb move), but getting the unarmed exp is a pain since unarmed combat was gimped in The Patch.
Anyone have any tips on how to get post-Patch unarmed exp for commando?
Get yourself a pair of fast Vibroknucklers (around 2.3ish speed.) Take them to a slicer and get them sliced. Repeat until you get a speed slice.
Equip the vibroknucklers (even though you don't have cert for them) and you will be a bit more than twice as fast and do about 10 more damage than you would without them. Go berserk and smash on things.
Nevs got it right... use the VKs anyway... I had them prepatch and was cranking along and them without once I saw the damage reduce message... turns out the damage is par iwth or without but your speed is increased. I did it like this:
1. Pistol healthshot 2
2. Pistol healthshot 1 (yes they stack)
3. Equip VK and smash away.
Also I had a pet standing by to save my A$$ just incase (rock beetle to be exact)....
On the point of unarmed anyone else think we train Commando we shoud get the same base unarmed bonuses (including VK cert) that TKS gets? At least then it'd make sense to me why we had tomake master.
Go after bigger mobs. Bleed it with a laser rifle. Peace out. Smack it with a fist. Then run like a baby. Re-bleed as necessary till the mob is dead.
I finally made Commando last night. I made the majority of my XP doing faction missions. Rank 9's are very doable at Unarmed III, and you will get about 8-900 XP per nest, plus get paid about the same in credits. Keep your best ranged weapon in a hot slot, or keep a pet on handin case you get in over you head, and be extra careful on the missions where there are three whites. It also doesn't hurt to pick up some medic skills during this grind andkeep in mind that a good set of armor (Ubese or Padded are best for this)will save your arse when fighting there battles.
Thanks again for the suggestions guys. Today I got unarmed III and half of unarmed IV in about 3-4 hours.
Basically I lucked out and found a master doc buffing for tips. She got my wook to about 2500 in all red and green stats.
Then I went and killed everything I found around Coronet. With the buffs, I had virtually no downtime. The best was a bunch of humbabas thatkept spawning really fast. I used the bleed trick and went to town.Got almost 1k unarmed exp each. =)
Getting buffed by a doc is definately the way to go.
