Tonight I was on Dathomir and noticed I was not getting xp. I was working on heavy weapons 4 and had 350k of 400. So I think maybe its capped xp because acid rifle 2 needs to be trained. Trained and still nothing. I tried a different flamethrower and nothing. I was able to get ch xp with graul mauler and rifle xp with laser rifle. Then noticed I could get heavy weapons xp with launcher pistol. So what I am trying to figure out is whether its a bug, or what. Logged out for 10-15 and same thing when I came back. I am going to buy a brand new flamethrower despite the fact the others are at least over 50% condition and are doing normal damage. Anyone have any insight to this?

Well used same flamethrower on Corellia. Getting xp now. Guess the rancors on Dathomir dont like giving me xp. I got my answer. A bug.

its not a bug. rancors are 100% resistant to heat damage. the only damage being done to said rancor was through the DOT. since DOT's don't give out xp, you were not getting any. use the flamer, then use the launcher pistol or HAR before it dies, and then you'll get the xp.

silly lil man....don't you use the examine feature and know what damage you are doing....LOL

OMG so would this have actually been a situation that the Acid rifle would have been better than the flamer ?

oh don't kid yourself. in no way, shape or form is the HAR better than the flamer. all you need to do is hit a rancor once with either the LP or the HAR while its burning, and you'll get the xp for it. using the HAR exclusively against the rancor will take longer.
