******[EDIT...Ok I have to withdrawthis, because it is based on a flawed assumption. I have been using several sets of Composite and Ubese from before the CU (some of which had some differing layer sets) and from my numbers, it APPEARED that Assault armor was better than other armors... After doing some research and checking what is not available on the market, I misunderstood the relationships between the armors, and that does not appear to be the case (as others have pointed out).
There is no reason to flame me, as I am still getting used to the system and was just posting some thoughts...
I think my question is still sound, but I need to rephrase it... stay tuned

Defense: Moderate (3)
Crowd Control: Minimal (1)
I can give up some range, max being 50m.
The devs did us right in Defenses. We're okay as a Master Commando, though Assault Armor, like all the armor classes, has weaknesses in specific situations.
Crowd Control: We're actually a "3," IMO. I would be GLAD to give up Crowd Control and go to a "1."
Offense: This is where we suck at. Even Rifleman, the other "5" rated Offensive profession, suffers, though nowhere near as bad as Commando. Take away our Crowd Control. Pistoleer and Carbineer can do that, and do it better. Shorten our range to Medium, as per the CU document. We already have insanely high SAC to Heavy Weapons. Highest in all weapons, IIRC. Our attacks are usually the slowest of all the Ranged Professions in general. With all this in mind, the devs need to give us the Offensive Punch that we rate.

It's cool. We're still wondering what the future of Commando holds.
The Jedi get fixes practically every patch. I said fixes, as in plural.
Commando counts itself with those few other professions that get no attention.
That alone is distressing.

Sure, but compare our rate and number of fixes to say... Jedi. Or even Bounty Hunters.
