I was wondering if the proton rifle had an aoe or not. Thanks.

Mine lists that it does

However in game play I have never drawn agro (or seen multi dmg) using it... so either the aoe is broke ... or it is simply not supposed to

Its complicated:

Pre-patch (If I remember right, around 16 or 18), proton rifles either: 1) Don't fire or 2) Produce an AoE. Those looted now-a-days don't produce an AoE, all three "versions" list the 6 m radius however. Since the bug fix for the proton rifle made em not produce an AoE, we've pretty much gone with that the proton rifle being non-AoE...as back in the CU Beta it was like that anyways.

I had mine given the 1/3/1 slice, lvl 1 speed and crit, lvl 3 dmg. I use an SAC pup on it and I'm quite happy. If only they didn't decay so fast, or had a much higher original condition, but such is life.
