Thread: Commando, worth it for the FS grind?

I have considered picking up Master Commando in order to use the Thermal Detonator for pure combat XP for the FS grind, does anyone that has Master Commando know if this is worth the grind rather than using C12's? Thanks!

I believe Protons are at master, not thermals. I might be wrong however. The way I see it, there are only 3 options. Novice Commando for the C-22, which isn't all that bad. Field Tacs 3 for the Imp Detonator, which has very good DPS compared to the other nades but has a smaller radius. Master for the Protons with high damage, large radius, and decent accuracy. TakingNovice, Tacs 3, or Master will all be faster than grinding with another profession, but will take varying amounts of grenades to complete. Master is the most cost efficient, Field Tacs 3 is the fastest and Novice uses the least skillpoints. If you have a lack of cash, choose Master. If you have tons of cash and a decent amount of time choose novice. For those in between Tacs 3 is a very solid choice.
Personally I chose Master the first time through. It took 4.8 crates to finish all 4 FS boxes. This time around I'm using Smuggler/MRifle/Tacs 3. It's working significantly better than before. A previous post by me explains why if you care to find it. Overall I'd reccomend everyone pick up at least Novice and 0010 Smuggler. That's probably the most balanced between money, time, and skillpoints. To each his own however.
