i guess this is going to happen more and more often as some of the other mmorpgs (matrix online and wow to name 2) / star wars games (republic commando, kotor 2 and battlefronts which, by the way, is awesome) come out.

Yup it is. Right now on Radiant's forum there are 5, count them, 5 posts from veterans that everyone knows that announce their quitting. I don't know about other servers but even coronet is a little dead on Radiant (not even the spammers on there!)

Yeah to tell you the truth I'm not a very serious gamer.. but have been playing battlefronts. The great thing is you can go on there for only 30 minutes and have the time of your life... in SWG that amount of time would barely get you a buff.
And the line "sorry to see a fellow pyro leave, man" reminds me of something I want to bring up...
I started this post around 2 weeks ago about how I did not like the route commando seemed to be going in this game. As you just said, and MANY have said before, Garvin, the only reason they are a commando is to be a pyro, with the heavy weapons and such. Well I felt like it was a huge slap in the face from Soe, and wellgarvin, that our heavy weapons life would be pushed into two rows... and that we would become more like a bh. With that change we would have 3 different professions for pistols/carbines/rifles to dabble in... and well, heavy weapons only two lines.
THE FACT IS THAT THIS GAME WILL NEVER SUCEED WITHOUT MORE DEPTH, AND HEAVY WEAPONS. How doyou ever expect the real star wars battles to happen without an array of heavy weapons to destroy huge battles /tanks. And not even that... how do you expect people to keep playing this game without only rifles, carbines and pistols, and ONLY two lines of heavy weapons... where is the content in that? That to me is just pushing the commandos to the side because they want to push the whole gcw thing aside like f*cking usual.
We as a profession community have already gone over that we are heavy damage dealers. And most of you are just going to let Soe take the easiest damn way out by not even changing our profession, just letting us get ranged specials (throw in a little cherry on top they do dmg supposedly)from pistols, carbines, and rifles. All of course with the same weapons.
By the way commandos who haven't played Battlefront yet... (you should really read this Garvin)...
There are Imperial Shocktroopers and Rebel Vanguards (along with the other species classes) that have missile launchers with grenades (also with a little pistol). They are one hit kills on people (if they hit), and they do great dmg to big vehicles. They are fun, and nothing like the lame commandos we have. And to make another point... the other classes in the game like Soldier, pilot, and sniper... ALL HAVE HEAVY WEAPONS TOO (like grenades, grenade launchers, rockets, mines, radiation dispenser)... yeah have you started to cry yet?
