I know about the bug where it would not hit non aggroed in pve, but the other night I was using (trying to any ways) it and aggroed or non aggroed, it NEVER hit any one else. (just primary target) Any one else seen this? Maybe I had a bad luck night who knows but jsut curious if any one else is seeing this.
(BTW it was while hunting on Dant, various diff monsters and NPCs, but in every attempt (about 12 before I stoped trying) both flamecone 1 and 2, NO hits on any others, none, zero, nada, nyet, nine. So bad day? or is there other occurances of this?

Keep in mind that it's actually a cone attack, so if the mobs are all right next to you trying to bite you, you'll only hit one target. You gotta get them all piled up around someone or something else (like a pet/droid), and then use it at about 7-15m range or so.

Interesting that it has to be that way, when I use melee1hspin2 it hits anything within 5 mtrs of me hehehe.

Another way to get some of them lined up nicely is to attack the lair, when they run back to heal the lair they get caught in the cone. This works OK with Fan Shot, and I figure it's probably the same as all of the other cone attacks. Pure_fusion's plan would work a bit better I think.
Rotor, most ranged area attacks are actually cone attacks. About the only ones that are not are in the pistoleer tree (Point Blank Area 1 & 2).

Flamecones work fine for me its all in the timing and judgement of the range of the targets. It does help that I have some nice and fast FT's though I must admit
