Heard rumors that FS melee speed was increasing flamethrower speed? It doesn't appear to be the case. Before training any FS skills I would fire flame single 2 with a 3.5 speed flamer at 7 seconds.
After training up to Melee Speed 2, I have noticed 0 change in flamer speed. It's still at 7 seconds.

Wouldnt that be a ranged weapon though?? Why would melee even be considered for a flamethrower?

I thought that flamethrowers and LLCs followed the rifleman guildlines...

it was rumored to be bugged, so that melee speed increased FT speed instead of ranged speed, i guess that isn't the case...

so basically neither ranged speed nor melee speed affect the flamer. commandos once again left out in the cold. garvin, has there been ANY word on this?

I would like to know to what it's about, i asked before but i guess it's to much to ask to get a responds from TH or Tiggs since they never bother to answer these questions.
As far as i heard neither ranged nor melee speed icnrease the speed of commando weapons.

I don't think FS accuracy/speed mods are working for any profession right now, actually.

you have 45 speed at master, so you should fire you're flamethrower at 0.55 x 3.5 x 4 = 7.7 seconds
after you learn the melee speed, you should fire at 0.49 x 3.5 x 4 = 6.86 seconds
you are right you fire your flamethrower at only 7 seconds after learning melee speed, but I dont believe you fired your flamer that fast ever before.
melee speed works for llc I can tell you, I havent tested it on the flamer, but I am sure it does work

i guess that could account for what i'm seeing. depressing.
i'll climb the rest of the line and see what happens. how fast are you firing llc single 2 btw?

It is working for me.. at box and my Damage Sliced flamer fires every 6 secs or so
i can flame twice b4 the DOT hits
) that's full 3k exp for my weapon !!!!! no more losing from burns
well not as much as b4 anyway
Also was very usful on the krayt hunt last night... i put about 8 burns on that sucker (3 flamers, 2 speed 1 dmg... and yes the burns from different flamers stack!!!)
Also remember that the SPEED for your weapon effects how fast you change weapons (mainly matters when you want to change after one of our speicals)

I posted about this over in the Correspondent forum this weekend...hopefully I'll get some word back soon...It has been confirmed by other ranged professions there weapons do indeed respond to FS Melee speed mods so it may just be a Heavy Weapon issue...
As soon as I hear back I'll post an update...

Now I have the first 3 melee speed skills, I fire my llc at a little more then 1 second. I just need the remaining speed to cap
I have a 1.9 speed llc, it fired at 1.5 seconds before learning the melee speed skills. as you can see, it made a huge difference, so I am sure it works

Yes it is.. my melee speed FS line brought my T21 to the one second cap. Go figure :/
