As far as it has been explained to me...you will be able to transfer the number of skill pts spent in any way you want EXCEPT into Jedi related areas...So if you are a 250pt Master Danacer/Master Image Designer, you could then transfer all 250 pts into all Combat if that's what you wanted to do...But if you have only spent 100 pts, you will only be able to reassign 100 pts...
Every currently player will get "1" re-roll of their characters based on the number of skill pts used up at the time of the "re-roll"...you don't have to use the re-roll right away, but once you do it, it's DONE...
There was some talk of only allowing Combat pts spent to be re-allocated into other combat professions, but I don't think that's going to pan out...Some folks are already creating new characters on various new servers and grinding out easy professions to use up 250 pts in preperation for re-allocation into harder to grind professions...kind of a cheesy way to do things and, if the Devs feel this is not acceptable, may alter to re-allocate process to prevent this trick...
Basically I feel like this Re-Allocate thing is an all around great idea...Any Commando can take this chance to right now go grind out other professions (to try them out) and when the CU hits, they'll be able to re-allocated right back up to being a Commando (as long as they have the proper number of skill pts spent)...It's like a freebie pass to try other things and not have to worry about regrinding Commando later...
It's also good (and the real reason behind the reroll I believe) for those who are in professions where the "role" is drastically changing from what they like...they may be inclined to look towards other professions for their preferred game play template and the re-roll won't penalize them into being stuck where they are...
