Well I was commando a few months back.... Well maybe a bit more then a few... but if i remember I used to get full xp even if I burned.. Now you only get xp for dmg you deal w/o burn dmg which really stinks for lvling and for grinding for jedi... Any ideas?

I believe there was a time when we got full xp on burns, but that time has long passed. The reason why the burn = no xp was placed was the dev's fearing we would tag lots of mobs around us with burns and let them die off on their own, making commandos get easy XP. Fortunately (and unfortunately), or DoTs don't last long enough to do this...and many times are essential to bringing down the big stuff.
Thus not only do we get the shaft on commando loot and no AP, we also get the shaft on xp...
Ironically, grenades are one of the best ways to grind out FS if you have the money...(its apparently alright ppl who just use our profession can get an XP benefit, while those of us that care about our profession get the shaft)

I could live with it if commandoes dots lasted oh, 10 min or so, same as the healt dots on base NS lances.

This is an issue that is reportedly "addressed within the Combat Upgrade"...at least that's the response I receive everytime I bring it up to the Devs...
PS...just a word of advice...you might get a negative reaction from some by suggesting you are only using the Commando profession to grind out a Jedi...not from me, but from others...

Not only do we not get EXP from the flame DOT, we dont get loot rights from the flame damage.
Me and a group of people were killing a KraytI belive it was. For some odd reason none of us were grouped yet. It had like 2/3 of its health as wounds. Most if not all of the damage was from my DOTs. They get the loot rights. Now thats just messed up.
DOTs should count toward Loot rights at minimum.

ya the worst thing about flame DOT is the loot rights... i worked my a$$ off trying and waiting for my KraytFT to be done (old one was to slow).. turned out great of course but of course when the live even with the DJK on eclipse happened i did atleadt 5/8ths of the dmg on it SOLO and i know this because no one touched its Health till just about after 1/3 of its health was gone do to my flamer and DOT... Loot should have been myn yet i got shafted beyond beleif..... the rip offs as a commando are unbeleivable and so many SIMPLE ideas could fix it in a heart beat.....
the only thing i need to be fixed in commando before i give it up till maybe I get an ALT is that DOT dmg count towards loot rights... and when im fighting a 80% heat resistence enemy is somethingI shoot at and get a DOT on which takes down the bulk of its health faster then some other professions still wont mean ill always get the loot BTW.. latas all and good killing

The DoT from a flamer (any DoT, for that matter) causes wounds (aside from damage). At current time, the loot system doesnt count wounds as damage (in the conventional way) done on an npc/mob towards loot rights.
Basically, the coding was simplified (whether done intentionally or out of laziness) NOT to take it into consideration, as damage and wounds are two completely different animals.

Interesting fact I didn't know. So when it ticks and causes the wound, it doesn't simultaneously do the same amount of damage?

Last I heard was that it is a bug and that it is not intended. For loot rights at least.

I enjoyed commando back when it wasnt gimped lol... Dropped it long time ago, and now came back to it.. Still fun but needs a big revamp.. Seems that every proff I enjoy is gimped. I really like commando and Pikeman. I'm not all about pvp and i dont do the loot for pike a ton to be "ub3r". Bah for my choice in broken proffs
Maybe its my love for being the underdog . hehe.
