There's a few creatures out there that our flamer doesn't affect and, hence, no XP. I remember hunting rancors with folks and I'd flame and flame but no XP at all. Finally, one day, I did an examine, switched to my HAR (!!) and, bang, XP.
Never gotten much more than 200 XP off Krayt dragons myself. Haven't done one in awhile, but next time Guild hunts Krayts I'll examine first to see which weapon to use. The flamer's good against lotsa stuf, but there ARE a few out there that are immune to it. Don't hunt Nightsisters with a flamer, for example.

I capped my XP along time ago. From killing Rebels. Honestly hunting faction NPCs isda best! Fighting creatures as Commando can be somewhat difficult if they are high level ones. Commando is really just a support role using the Flame DoT.

Same with Krayt Ancients. The thing is, they like to target the burn doters, or us, a lot, so if it starts turning twards you, run out of it's range and use your auto fire for a few seconds, then run back in and continue laying on the dots.

Heh, I just sit back about 50 meters or so popping rockets at it. Let the melee fighters end up as krayt snacks.

Ah, true about flame dotting the Sisters. I'd forgotten the one hunt I did with a coupla melee guys. They told me to just stay back and flame dot and they'd do the rest. lol
