The CU is a free publish/update that "Launchpad" will pickup and install. Mind you, it will be a large update 
So everyone will get it. So you don't need to do anything special.
So everyone will get it. So you don't need to do anything special.The RotW Expansion will be a "buy me" expansion. So not everyone will have it or want it. The expansion already has the CU built into it's code base.
This means that the CU will need to be pushed to everyone before hand, or if you managed to hide from the CU then the expansion will force it on to you anyway.
So everyone will get the CU for free, just like a regular publish. The expansion is up to you to buy.
Thats my opinion anyways.

I agree you with you there, except the part where it needs to be puched out before the expantion. I think they both will hit live at the same time, though when the expantion hits the stores is another thing 
but May 5th is the official date.

It would make sense to publish the CU a few days before the expansion is officially available. This will ensure that nobody can get the expansion installed before everyone has the CU.

Don't forget the launcher can download it and cache it till the install date.
