Hey guys,
I finally killed something completely with a grenade (took forever since I'm not novice commando). I got like 80 combat xp + 8 combat xp. Is this normal?

Yes, all damage done by grenades and cannon's give 100% Combat EXP. SO you got 80 combat exp for the grenades, then 10% of that for 8 normal combat exp (that you get every fight).
