I want to go back to making my own weapons.

Not just grenades (as I have said before) but ALL of them.

Master Weaponsmiths are not making enough and when they do make them they charge way too much. I saw grenades today that were 1500 for a stack of 5.

Now I have a weaponsmith in my PA who will make them for $400 for 20 nades, BUT if I could make my own for a few grand I could have the resources to make hundereds of grenades!

All you have to do is let the Weaponsmiths make "Commando Weapons" and let the Commandos make them too. I would gladly go back up the engineering tree to be able to do this. Maybe just let Commandos with Engineering make their own weapons and Commandos without engineering can buy from weaponsmiths.

I don't care if the beta team didn't want to make their own weapons, I do.

on one level i agree, and its because weaponsmiths generally take commandos for every cent their worth when it comes to getting our crap weapons that break down fast or run out of charges faster.

for example:based on www.swgcraft.com 's stats on weapons and their required resources/componenets, a flamethrower shouldnt run much more than 10k(the resources required run 3120 at 10cr a unit) and the remaining 7k is standard markup for high quality experimentation and factory time. thats how i would sell them. yet somehow, they wind up costing over 30k in most cases....gotta love those weaponsmiths who are already richer than we'll ever get to know. my friend wub, before he deleted himself, sold his flamethrowers and other commando weapons at 10cr/unit cost and sold 4 to one guy for less than 20k.

making our own weapons isnt the solution, weaponsmiths not price gouging because one resource is hard to find, thats the problem.

/disclaimer- not all weaponsmiths are as bad as described above, in fact some are extraordinarily cool about it, but once again a few bad eggs spoils the bunch......

I think the solution is making my own weapons.

I am very close to dropping this class. I have decided to wait for the "Fix" and see what if anything happens. I have already started up the pistoleer tree and I also have novice smuggler.

If I change I will only be out the 40,000 combat XP, which I could have used on Bounty Hunter, since I'm a scout too.

If they gave us our own defensive skills and offensive styles that are worth something I would be all for them changing the unarmed spec req back to the engineering spec. Make us combat engineers like we were originally intended for. They changed us from combat engieers to special forces commandos and instead improving the profession they screwed it up even more.

FIx our current styles byt giving some freaking range and signigicantly increase the damage output, add some defensive skills and if you dont add defense skills pump up our dmg output even more to compensate for the hits we will take. Also swap out that explosion graphic for our default flamethrower firing with the Flame Single style graphic. Makes more sense to have the big bang explosion on our style and not constantly lag up the screen with it when we dont use the style much anyway. I would much rather see the flame single style as our default firing animation, and our current defaul firing animation as the style one.

"To be realistic," says one member, "if you're in a combat environment where people are out there with assault rifles and heavy machine guns, your [stuff] is pretty weak if you're out there with a handgun. A handgun would typically be used for escape and evasion, which means that everything's gone to hell."

I too would like to make my own weapons simply because I like to be more self sufficient but not waste time in the weaponsmith tree just to make a few weapons found in it...on another note I feel very lucky, 30k+ for a flame etc is insane I got mine for 12k

Just buy the schematics off the weaponsmith, get a factory, and produce them off his schematic. You can do that now.

You can, in fact, manufacture anything in this game in exactly this same way. Anyone can.

Personally, I think it makes a lot more sense than manufacturing grenades in the field. "Yeah, boss, wait a sec. I need to make a grenade for this fight, can you wait a minute. What, they're attacking now?Tell them to wait, drat it, i used up the last!"

Anyway, why not just got Weaponsmith/Commando. All you seem to want is the Thrown weapon skill tree anyway, so that's what, 15+14+20 skill points? You'll have all but one grenade schematic.

You'll still have lots for Master Commando.

Can anyone explain to me how you can aquire schematics from other players?

The down side to buying a schematic is that you have to use EXACTLY the same resources that the schematic was made with and the schematic isn't gonna tell you what you need specifically. Make sure you find out what resources you need before you buy the schematic off of someone.

That said I think we should be able to craft 'nades. Medics can craft stimpacks. We should be able to craft nades and the support skill tree shouldgive us grenade creation and experimentation as well asaccuracies and other'nade bonus's.

It amazes me you people are willing to respec. This is the complacency that lets unscrupulous companies like SOE get away with this stuff.

I have an overall bad attitude towards SWG and SOE solely because of this mess. I am already looking around for a new game.

Why pay these companies for delivering substandard products and then making us beg them to fix what should have been working in the first place?

er, why would you want these weapons? They suck...

Besides that, I don't want to waste points on crafting, give us some decent specials and bonuses instead...please...no really...PLEASE!
