Thread: Did anyone combo Weaponsmith with Commando yet?
Most of the Commando weapons are in the Master Weaponsmith box. There really is no point in taking Weaponsmith just to make your own weapons. "Self-sufficient" isn't an issue with a combat class. Just go run 10 missions and buy yourself a Flamethrower, or a bunch of grenades.
I am halfway to master weaponsmith and plan on mastering it and getting as far as i can in commando(if they ever fix it that is).
Rocket launcher, acid stream, imp detonator, flamethrower and heavy acid launcher all are crafted by master weaponsmith only, so mastering ws is my first priority.
That leaves enough skill pts. to master two branches of commando plus half of each of the other two.
Not sure wich ones I will master, it depends on what changes and improvements are made to the profession.
However, if they don't do some big time improvements by the time i master ws (which will be a while yet since I don't have that much time to play) I might just forget commando and go for pistoleer, since for some reason they dominate all other weaponprofessions the way things are now.
.
I'm currently a Commando/Weaponsmith. After planning out my character I'm able to Master Commando, and get most of the way up the Munitions tree (Along with some Scout and Medic skills as well)
But the only reason was to keep a steady supply of grenades for myself.

That sounds similar to what I have planned. How far did you go in the Artisan tree? Did you master it? I got Engineering 1-4 and Domestic Arts 1-4 so I have as many Experimentation points as possible (except for the ones you get for mastering Artisan)
If I did my math right, this is doable. I mean, you can't master both, but if you don't attain any melee weapons in the weaponsmith tree, this should make a fairly self-sufficient Master Commando right? Are there things that come along with learning the actual "Master Weaponsmith" skill that is required for Commandos?
I am thinking of switching to Commando, even with all the problems, but only if I can Weaponsmith effectively for this class. Any ideas?
I think half the commando weapons including the flamethrower and the acid rifle are in the master weaponsmith box, which is half the trees for commando right there.
