Thread: Ok, here's what worries me about my commando

I have been very patient with my Master Commando Wookie, I felt this was a great profession for him since the wookie roar could really help bail me out of a hairy situation. But from what I have read, we are going to be AoE machines, and heavy ones at that, in the post-CU SWG. So here is my concern.......


Will we be the unwanted fat kid on the dodgeball team? If everyone is getting a "weakening" so that group action is more viable, will commandos be undesirable on adventures like the corvette, DWB, Geo caves? Will groups not want us around for fear of us aggroing every SBD in the place? From what I read,most our attacks are AoE by default. Can someone speak to this for me? Sorry I just do not have time to go onto TC and see for myself.

While many of our weapons will be AOE, we do have non-AOE weapons like the Proton Rifle...When we brought up a similiar concern to the devs like yours (about groups not wanting to include us for fear of our AOE causing aggro), the response was "in those situations, use one of your non-AOE weapons...but in most cases, groups will want you BECAUSE of your AOE attacks"...


If, post CU, we find that to many of our weapons are AOE, or our best attacks are all AOE, we can probably make a strong case and get some things changed (likely easier to remove the AOE effect then it was to add it).

Has anyone tested if AOE through walls is fixed in CU? It's sad if it isn't since it is a major issue and I do believe even the Proton Rifle has an AOE stat on it. Before the CU the commandos could atleast do Flame Single to burn just a single target.

Yeah, if they could fix AOE through walls, I think that would cure a lot of the problems right there.


If not, I really want to see what happens when the first grenade is thrown in the corvette or the DWB, muahahaha!

TO many of our weapons? i cant see us haveing to many weapons here, at master you got 3 options...1 PFT, 2 HLBL, 3 photon rifle -- loot


if you think as a master commando your going to use anything less that does less for you, that does lower damage your going to be in for a world of hurt.

Time tested and mother approved shows that no one in thier right minds will ever switch to a lesser weapon to do less damage just cause they can use it.


sorry to be negative but i feel stripped and ripped on as a commando or even excommando as it stands this very moment.

I do not see the role in the group please for the love of god some one show me or tell me what the commandos role is and then prove it to me, words are one thing but actions speak louder than words. I have seen the results of the game for my server and posted about it.....


so heres your challenge, prove me wrong, do more than 549 dps every 1.2 seconds to a AREA of mobs with full auto area fire with a carbine.....


commando 5 i think not try a 3.



if your TC comes up do this for me guys prove me wrong with your weapons, i tried on bloodfin and could not compete.

the aoe could be a special that we could use just have to have the devs set it up as a special and that the gun has a set aoe radius

The Proton rifle solves everything my friend That thing isn't AOE and has very nice damage. use it with impunity!!!!!!!!

I like my AoE on the LBC and PFT. It's wicked in PvP for state attacks. Proton rifle is our bread-and-butter single-target weapon, as the man already said. Damage is on the same level as the PFT, so it really works well.

If LOS was fixed in regards to terrain, why can't they fix aggroing mobs through walls? How hard can this really be? You can't shoot players through walls...anymore.
