Hey Guys,

I'm currently Master Smuggler, which I'll be dropping soon to take up Commando. Before I drop Smuggler I'd like to buy and slice some Commando weapons, both to help me reach Master and to use after that.

Any advice on what I should buy and what kind of slices to try for would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Moota

At novice commando your flamethrower accuracy will be horrible, so most novices go for the launcher pistol (uses pistol skill, gives heavy weapons xp). The one Im currently using was originally around 220 max damage at 2.1 speed. Mine is damage sliced, but speed would be a better choice I would think since the marksman +60 (I think) pistol speed just isnt enough.

Flamethrowers... opinions differ here. I like speed, and Im using a 2.9 ??? - 990ish krayt flamethrower currently. I have a damage sliced krayt FT that is somewhere around 4.1 ??? - 1350ish but I rarely use it.

No one really uses the HAR, but it as well as grenades can be sliced.

I'd use the launcher pistol till you get FT3, then switch to the FT for the rest of your leveling. I'm not sure if grenades still give max combat xp on lairs, (I've been maxed out on combat xp for a long time), if they still do they are well worth using to help you grind up the combat xp tree. Maybe someone can confirm this.

I was different and have actually used a FT since Novice. No matter what weapon you choose, though, you're probably going to want to slice for speed.

I would recommend speed slices on both weapons. The launcher pistol is great with Last Ditch if you can keep it for a while, but the delay is horrible if you're not a master pistoleer or BH. Some people prefer a damage slice on the flamethrower, but your specials can increase the damage... and the delay, so speed is most important.

The only other weapon you might want to use from time to time is the rocket launcher. That's really only useful against turrets, lairs and stuff with Heavy armor. Damage slice is probably best on these.
