Thread: Carbine greater than Commando?

Was listening to PA chat today before the patch dropped on us.

Listening to a pistoleer and a rifleman compare notes with our current PA leader who is carbine.

Carbine hitting for 2000 every 3 seconds?

Any Commandos hitting for anything near that kind of damage??

Specials or not?

Do they need to nerf carbine/rifle/pistol or just give us more anytime damage with our launcher???

This is total BS in my view.

I don't know if you're sarcastic, actually questioning, or just bs'ing so I guess I'm silent at this moment.

Friends name is Vei'iccia

He was our guild leader in Asherons Call 2 and a co leader in Asherons Call, he also played a bit in Dark Age of Camelot with some of my friends and I and I have known him for over 5 years.

He always had the best stuff and knew all the lore.

Most everyone takes what he says as blind truth since he is always experimenting ingame and searching the forums for info.

I'm just wondering what kind of damage everyone is getting now with their weapons and what the devs expect us to see on the test center? If anyone is actually there as a Commando testing now?

I just find it hard to believe thata Commando would be outdamaged by a Carbineer due to our higher entry requirements but then again I havent hit Commando yet, I am halfway thru the unarmed tree right now (saved it for last)

What would people expect our specials to be like if a carbineer is hitting for that much??

Yet another reason why our 10 second delay specials better do 7000 damage. The chances that will happen though are probably 0.

Master Carbine Assault Tactics conveys a masterful level of understanding of carbine attack speed, and gives the Carbineer the ability to stun several targets simultaneously.

Skill mod: Carbine Speed +5
Ability: Wild Shot 2

Expert Carbine Assault Tactics continue the Carbineer education in raising the speed of their attacks while being able to hit multiple locations of an opponent at once.

Skill mod: Carbine Speed +5
Ability: Scatter Shot 2

With Master Carbine Counterinsurgency, the Carbineer becomes a master at counterattacking opponents that charge into combat recklessly. At this level, the Carbineer is able to easily halt a single opponent rush by driving them into the ground.

Skill mod: Counterattack +5
Ability: Suppression Fire 2

Master Carbine Special Abilities grants additional special moves to the Carbineer. At this level of mastery, the Carbineer can hit targets while moving much easier, and be able to knock multiple opponents down simultaneously.

Skill mod: Carbine Accuracy While Moving +5
Ability: Charge Shot 2

Scatter shot 2 equals multiple HAM bars in one shot.

I'm working my character up towards novicecarbineer right now, so I guess I'll throw a few things in so this conversation doesn't get too one-sided. From the analysis of our specials on the Carbineer Forum, it appears not all our high level specials, specifically AOEs are working as described. For instance, the damage spread on AOEs can vary dramatically, from near even to almost entirely on the target. Whether or not it's a bug or working as intended is not clear right now. I won't go into a laundry list of other issues, after all the grass is always greener on the otherside.

As far as my opinion on how things should be.... I think having Pistoleers/Riflemen/Carbineers doing more rawdamagethan a Commando of equal level is fine, provided Commandos can do valuable things other professions can't. I'll admit, I'm not an expert on what Commandos in this game or what they should be. What is clear to me though is that the Carbineerswere intended to be"crowd control", just as Rifleman are the snipers. Commandos should be just as good at there specialized role, and if they aren't that should be fixed.

Shad, you're not getting an answer because people think you are joking, teasing, or mocking us.

I beg you read aroudn the threads on this forum to understand why. BUt in short:

A Pistol Specialist with a CDEF does more damage than a COmmando with the best weapons available.

The Commando profession exists in name only.
