I recently bought my first flamethrower, i just turned novice commando about 2 weeks ago and since the weps were bugged i was waiting until about a week ago when they fixed most of the commando weps. I tried buying a cheap HAR (80-179 dmg) and I got tired of only being able to do 300 max dmg with normal shot since i don't have any skills in commando. So i set out to find a local master wepsmith despite all the reports on this board of how useless it is until you are like flame lvl 3. So i found one for 20k,(760-979dmg 5spd) bought it, and searched for the nearest target. I severly overkilled a chuba with 1139 dmg normal shot! I then took it to fort tusken and grouped up with 2 other peeps, i was a little hesitant to go into battle with a supposedly bad accuracy weapon, but i went for it, and as we engaged our first commoner....the health bar droped on it, and i marveled at the 2523 floating away from his head....to say the least the people i was with were impressed as was i. I journeyed with them to the top to take on a captain, and its true that accuracy is not perfect with the FT, but after my 2 fellow group members were slain, my flamethrower came through for me as the last quarter of his life bar vanished with another 2500 dmg shot. All i can say is that the accuracy issues are well worth the xp gain, 3k HW xp just for that one captain.

well for starters 2500 dmg normal shot is a "bug" that tusken must have had a carbine or rifle out because try shooting a critter for the actual damage. Supposedly the damage is being treated as melee (and this is not confirmed a bug hence my ""'s above) and doing the melee damage multipliers because there is no way you'd get 2500 off a 1000 base damage weapon on a normal hit. I have flamethrower two, I've had flame cone 2 miss 3 GNORTS at once. Accuracy is an issue, that tuskan would have been DEAD fast had you had the accuracy of a novice pisotleer or carbineer or rifleman attached to the flamer. Instead you were novice marksman accurate.

Yes the gun is powerful, but it does have major drawbacks.

How is it not a confirmed bug? Ask any bounty hunter who has used the llc before the fix and they will tell you that the llc is a ranged melee weapon.

You can also just check your combat screen and notice that you do 3k damage to targets with rifles and only 1k damage to targets using melee weapons.

Becaue instead of lying and making crap up like a lot of people would do I decided to post within my realm of knowledge. And *I* have never seen Q or Holo state that it's a bug, OR that it's working as intended. If you can politely show me where they say this I'll go look. Considering our extremely short range with our HAR/Flame thrower specials maybe it IS working as intended, or maybe it isn't. I'm not going to say with 100% confidance it's a bug until I've seen that it is indeed a bug.

Hehe, I think you bought one of the pre-patch HAR's, the new ones are only about 100 damage behind the Flame Thrower, and have slightly longer range.
