Thread: Question for the Pros: Can u Explain Flamethrower DOT to me?
For me it happens when useing a flame special, you will notice a new icon on there HAM bar, if you put your mouse over it it says the target is on fire, it works like a bleed shot, causing dmg about every 15-20 seconds, the amount of dmg it does depends on how vulnerable the creature or person is to heat dmg, but useualy does about 700-1300 in dmg at a time.
Hope that helps.
what makes the dot nastie is the wounds it does. wounds are free damage. watch a mob burn once. when the black bar grows they take that damage too. 50 black wounds means 50 damage. and to finaly make a great bonus the wounds caused, i belive , are based on its ham. i was fighting a atst with a ch and some medics. 1 flame single gave it 3k in wound. second one gave it 6k total. didnt get to do a third cuz it was dead.

From my observations, the DOT only happens with specials, and goes off roughly ever 10 seconds afterward, doing about 1/3 of the damage delt by the special. (seen 1124 dot on a nice special hit)
Just my observations ![]()
FYI
The stronger the Initial hit, the stronger the dot per tick, and the more hp wounds they take per tick.
Hit for 2000, do 1k a tick, do 100 wounds.
Hit for 4000, do 2k a tick, do 200 wounds.
These arent the real #'s...but they show my point.
