I've been trying to find you what exactly does it mean to havee.g. +30 bonus to your weapon speed, but nobody knows. You can also check my original thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=47814

But Ivoni, you seem to know. In your "Commando changes"-post you said:

"The best speed mod we have is +45. This turns my speed 4.8 into a 2.6"

So you know how this works? Pleeeease share your knowledge with us.Let us hearall the mathematical facts including every smallest detail you got. And if you know how the other bonuses work let us hear those too.

Hmmm....but wait.... 4.8 minus 45% equals 2.6.I hope your not just assuming it's a percentage reduction to the speed. I can tell you that it's possible to reach a speed bonuses around +120 by dabbling in elite weapon professions and BH disciplines.

Yes it is just a % reduction in speed. Anythin over about +95 speed doesn't help much and anything 100+ caps the speed of the weapon at 1. So you end up with 1 speed carbines, rifles with 8 speed can be brought to about 2 etc....

SwissArmyWolf from where you got this? I must say that I'm suspicious about this.

Pure percentage reduction is too powerfull. It means that the first +10 is quite meaningless, but the last +10 means a lot.

E.g. let say your weapons attack speed is 10s. You get +10 bonus from your very first skill box, meaning your attack speed will go down to 9s. Meaning that you'll do 11% more damage per second than before. Now, later when you grab those skill boxes and are nearly maxed out, you have a +80 skill bonus meaning that your attack speed is down to 2s. You all ready deliver five times the damage that you originally did. Now you get a +10 skill bonus (for a total of +90) your attack speed goes down to 1s. Your damage delivering power doubles with just the last +10. And is now 10 times what it originally was.

Youwould get exponential growth in power. And this game is set up quite differently you don't get exponential curve, not even lieaner, but more like logaritmic.

And If it's just a % reduction as you say and attack speed is capped at 1s (a fact from Holo, which we all know), why do you say rifles cap at 2s? Or do you mean the fact that it's possible to get+129 speed bonus for pistols anda +120 for carabine by dabbling in BH, but for rifles you get less since speed bonuses for them can only be found from rifleman? (I haven't calculated it but it's something like a +70 speed for rifles).

Innos,

Let's takea Flamethrower as an example.

At Flamethrower1 you get = Flamethrower Speed +10

At Flamethrower2 you get = Flamethrower Speed +10

At Flamethrower3 you get = Flamethrower Speed +15

At Flamethrower4 you get = Flamethrower Speed +10

So, the total will be +45.

And yes, it is a percentage decrease.

But, there is a 1 second cap on speed, meaning that's the fastest rate of speed the game will allow you to shoot.

JediSpam, I understand the theory. I just wanted to know where did the assumption that it's a percentage reduction came from? I haven't seen any DEV posts stating the fact. Has somebody done testing on this?

I just sounded that it not a good system: The percentage reduction works if you can climb upto a reasonable reduction rates like 45% or maybe even 70%. But when you can get a total reduction of speed (100%+) it means that everything you do is 1s-delay. No matter how slow your gun is, you'll going to fire it every second. But if it's this way then it is.

Does anybody know if the 1s cap is before the special multiplier or after? Meaning that one can do all specials with 1s delay also?

The pistoleer forums have proven through testing that they can get no faster than 1.0.

SOE has said, I know I've read it but can't find a link, that 1.0 is a speed cap.

And I have a stopwatch and timed it. That is the way the math works. I know because I've tested it.

Also because of this, that is why our speed only gets to +45.

Imagine what we would do with +90?
